## What DaVinci Resolve offers

Blackmagic Design puts editing, colour, effects, motion graphics and audio in one app for Mac, Windows and Linux. The free version handles 8-bit video up to 60 fps and Ultra HD. Studio adds text-based editing, Magic Mask, AI voice isolation and 10-bit video up to 120 fps.

Blackmagic lists auto subtitles, IntelliCut, Smart Reframe and Voice Isolation as Studio-only. Manual subtitles are free. The Studio sale ends 20 Nov 2026.

## Premiere Pro

Adobe's desktop editor, now called Adobe Premiere. It transcribes on import, lets you cut by copying and pasting text, and translates captions into 18 languages. It is a membership only, and Adobe's India page shows two different single-app prices, so check the live page.

## Final Cut Pro

Apple's editor for Mac and iPad. It has the Magnetic Timeline, Magnetic Mask and Voice Isolation. Its Generate Captions needs a Mac with Apple silicon and works in U.S. English only. There is no Windows version.

## Filmora

Wondershare's editor for Windows and Mac. It lists dynamic captions, AI text-based editing and Auto Reframe. Free exports carry a watermark, and Filmora's own pages disagree on exact prices.

## PowerDirector

CyberLink's editor for Windows and Mac. PowerDirector 365 lists AI text-based editing, auto reframe and a voice translator with lip sync. The free Essential version adds a watermark.

## Clipchamp

Microsoft's editor runs in the browser and as a Windows app. Free personal exports reach 1080p with no watermark and include AI subtitles and silence removal. It does not name Hindi for captions. 4K export and the brand kit need Microsoft 365.

## Marxx

We make Marxx. [Marxx's AI video editor](/features/ai-video-editor) runs in the browser, built for ad creative. It has colour wheels, curves and .cube LUT import, and exports an editable timeline for DaVinci Resolve. Cut, Match and Master cost $9, $29 and $69 a month at launch prices (checked 3 Nov 2026).

## Worked example: auto subtitles

Say you caption 20 Reels a month for a year.

- DaVinci Resolve free: manual subtitles, INR 0.
- DaVinci Resolve Studio, for auto subtitles: INR 25,980 / 12 = INR 2,165 a month in year one, excluding GST.
- Clipchamp free: AI subtitles, INR 0.
- Clipchamp with Microsoft 365 Personal: INR 6,899 / 12 = about INR 575 a month. It adds 4K export and a brand kit.

Prices checked 3 Nov 2026. Blackmagic's pages mention no subscription for Studio, so this treats it as one payment.

## How to choose

1. List the jobs you need: colour grading, auto subtitles or quick social cuts.
2. Check which of those sit behind Studio. Auto subtitles do.
3. Test one real file in a free plan. Export it and look for a watermark.
4. Read more in [Premiere Pro alternatives](/alternatives/premiere-pro-alternatives) and [Clipchamp alternatives](/alternatives/clipchamp-alternatives).
