## What Instagram Edits offers

Edits is Instagram's video app for iPhone (iOS 16.3 or later) and Android. You sign in with an Instagram account. It lists auto captions with caption styles, templates, AI animation of images, green screen and cutouts. It also lists a frame-accurate timeline, a teleprompter and sharing to Instagram and Facebook. The App Store description says 4K export with no watermark.

Meta's pages do not list silence removal, filler-word removal, auto reframe, a brand kit or dubbing. Meta listed keyframes and collaboration as "coming soon" in April 2025, and we could not confirm they are live. It lists no caption languages. In Nov 2025 it added Devanagari fonts for text and captions, covering Hindi and Marathi, on Android first. The App Store listing shows in-app purchases but names none.

## VN

Free on iOS, Android, Mac and Windows. VN says it has no watermarks. It has 150+ free templates, keyframes and speed curves. Auto Caption covers 43 languages, but VN does not list them.

## InShot

A phone app for iOS and Android. The App Store lists AI Cut, which it says removes silences and filler words, plus speech-to-text captions. Its terms say a subscription removes the logo and ads.

## KineMaster

A phone editor for iOS and Android. Free exports carry a watermark and ads, and Premium removes both. It lists AI captions in 36 languages including Hindi, plus Magic Remover and AI Tracking.

## Captions

Captions (by Mirage) lists 100+ caption styles, removal of pauses and filler words, and Hindi and Hinglish captions. Chat to Edit is on Max. Free credits are one-time and do not refresh.

## Filmora

Wondershare's editor for phone and desktop. The mobile app lists Image to Video, Text to Video and AI Auto Cut. The desktop app lists Auto Reframe. Free desktop exports carry a watermark.

## Marxx

We make Marxx. If you edit Reels ads at a desk, [Marxx's AI video editor](/features/ai-video-editor) runs in the browser, with safe-zone overlays for Reels, Stories, Shorts and TikTok. On a phone it opens a player, not the editor. Cut, Match and Master cost $9, $29 and $69 a month at launch prices (checked 3 Nov 2026).

## Worked example: leaving Edits

Say you outgrow Edits and pay for a phone editor for a year.

- InShot Pro yearly: INR 1,499, about INR 125 a month.
- KineMaster Premium yearly: INR 3,999, about INR 333 a month.
- Filmora Pro yearly: INR 4,999, about INR 417 a month.
- Captions Basic yearly: INR 6,900, which is INR 575 a month.
- VN: INR 0, and Edits stays at INR 0.

Prices checked 3 Nov 2026, from Indian App Store lists.

## How to choose

1. List what Edits lacks for you: silence removal, Hindi captions or a desktop app.
2. Open the free apps first. VN costs nothing.
3. Caption one Hindi clip in each app, then export and look for a watermark.
4. Read [InShot alternatives](/alternatives/inshot-alternatives), [VN alternatives](/alternatives/vn-video-editor-alternatives) or [KineMaster alternatives](/alternatives/kinemaster-alternatives).

## FAQ

### Is Instagram Edits free?

Yes. Meta says it is free to download on the App Store and Google Play, with no added watermarks. The App Store listing shows in-app purchases without naming them (checked 3 Nov 2026).

### Does Instagram Edits caption in Hindi?

Meta lists no caption languages. It added Devanagari fonts in Nov 2025, but that is a font, not a language list. Test a Hindi clip.

### Can I use Instagram Edits on a computer?

Meta lists iOS and Android apps only. VN and Filmora also run on desktop.
