The AI video models to test for ads today are Google's Gemini Omni Flash, Kling, Seedance 2.0 and Runway's Gen-4.5. We left out Sora: OpenAI's deprecations page set 24 September 2026 as the date its Sora 2 models leave the API. Run one brief through three models and pick on cost per usable clip.

## Quick comparison

| Model | Audio | Vertical 9:16 | Clip length | Price we could read |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gemini Omni Flash (Google) | Yes, from your text | Yes | Base length not stated. Extends by 10 s, up to 40 s | About $0.10 a second at 720p |
| Kling 3.0 and 3.0 Omni (API docs) | Native audio option, off by default | Yes | 3 to 15 s | Not read |
| Seedance 2.0 (ByteDance) | Audio generation option | Yes | 4 to 15 s | $7.0 per million tokens at 720p, no video input |

## What each one is

**Gemini Omni Flash.** Google's Gemini API pages describe fast video generation, editing and extension with native audio. You set the aspect ratio to 9:16 for portrait video, and 720p is the default. Google's pricing page says Veo 3.1 preview models shut down on 22 October 2026 and recommends Gemini Omni Flash. It bills video output at $17.50 per million tokens and counts 5,792 tokens for each second of 720p video, which works out to about $0.10 a second (5,792 x $17.50 / 1,000,000 = $0.1014). See [Kling vs Veo](/compare/kling-vs-veo).

**Kling.** Kling's homepage promotes Kling 4.0. Its API docs list Kling 3.0 and 3.0 Omni, and we found no 4.0 in them. The specs above come from the 3.0 and 3.0 Omni API pages, which list 720p, 1080p and 4K, three aspect ratios and an audio switch. We could not read Kling's credit prices, and we did not find 4.0's specs.

**Seedance 2.0.** ByteDance says the model generates audio and video together and accepts text, images, audio and video as references. BytePlus's docs list 480p to 4K, a 4 to 15 second range and six aspect ratios including 9:16. You can also use Seedance inside Runway. BytePlus's pricing page now lists a newer Seedance 2.5 as well. We did not read its specs.

**Runway Gen-4.5.** Runway's help page lists 12 credits a second, a 720p output and text-to-video in 16:9 only. Image-to-video adds 9:16, so start from a still for vertical ads. Standard is $15/month ($12 billed yearly) for 625 credits.

## A worked example

Say you want one 8-second vertical clip and expect 6 tries, with $1 at INR 85.

- **Gemini Omni Flash at 720p:** 8 x $0.1014 = $0.81 a try. Six tries cost $4.87, about INR 414.
- **Runway Gen-4.5:** 8 x 12 = 96 credits a try. Six tries use 576 of Standard's 625 credits, which costs $15 a month, about INR 1,275.

The cheaper try is not always the cheaper clip. Divide your spend by the clips you would actually run. That is the test in [how to choose an AI video model for ads](/guides/how-to-choose-an-ai-video-model-for-ads).

## About Sora

OpenAI's deprecations page lists the Videos API and the Sora 2 models for removal on 24 September 2026, with no replacement named. If you built prompts there, reuse them as starting points in another model. See [Sora vs Veo](/compare/sora-vs-veo).

## How to choose

1. Use the same photo and prompt in each model.
2. Check labels, hands and text in every frame.
3. Test Hindi or other speech if you need it. Do not assume it works.
4. Read each model's terms for commercial use.
