CapCut's Auto Cut has a Beat Sync mode, Final Cut Pro lists Beat Detection, and Filmora names Auto Beat Sync. Many other editors do not list the feature.

## Quick comparison

| Tool | Beat feature | Price (checked 3 Nov 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| CapCut | Auto Cut with a Beat Sync mode | Pro US$19.99 a month; prices vary by region |
| Final Cut Pro | Beat Detection | Rs 29,900 once on the Indian Mac App Store |
| Filmora | Auto Beat Sync, listed without a description | Free with watermark. Basic US$49.99 a year |
| Marxx | Beat and tempo detection for cutting on the beat | Match $29 a month and up, launch prices |

Filmora's own pages disagree on exact paid prices.

## CapCut

On desktop, click the AI button in the top toolbar, or go to Edit > AI Tools > Auto Cut. Choose Beat Sync, set the sensitivity, minimum clip length and transition style, then click Apply. Auto Cut is on desktop and mobile, not CapCut Online. Its page does not say which plan it needs.

CapCut is not officially available in India: it is not on the Indian App Store, and its pricing page shows no plans to visitors from India (checked 3 Nov 2026).

## Final Cut Pro and Filmora

Apple's India page lists Beat Detection for Final Cut Pro, which runs on Mac and iPad. Filmora lists Auto Beat Sync in its navigation, with no description. Test it on the free version before you rely on it. KineMaster lists Music Match for music, but its pages do not call it beat sync.

DaVinci Resolve, Edits by Instagram, VN, InShot, Canva, VEED and PowerDirector do not list beat sync on the pages we read.

## Cut by hand

1. Find the tempo of your track in beats per minute.
2. Work out one beat in seconds: 60 divided by the tempo.
3. Place a marker on each beat, or on every second beat.
4. Snap each cut to a marker.
5. Watch the edit with the sound on, and nudge any cut that feels late.

## A worked example

Say your track runs at 120 beats per minute. One beat lasts 60 / 120 = 0.5 seconds. Cut every 2 beats and each shot lasts 1 second, so a 15-second Reel holds 15 shots. Cut every 4 beats and each shot lasts 2 seconds, so you get about 7 shots.

## Common mistakes

Do not cut on every beat of a slow track, because the edit feels twitchy. Do not let the beat hide a weak hook: the first 3 seconds still decide if people stay. Check the music rules too. Meta's Reels ad spec page lists licensed music among the things Reels ads cannot use.

## How to choose

1. Decide how often you want a cut: every beat, or every bar.
2. Test the tool on one track you plan to use.
3. Check that the cut points land on the beat when you play it back.
4. Check the music licence for the platform you post on.

We make Marxx. Its [AI video editor](/features/ai-video-editor) detects beat and tempo for cutting on the beat. It also ducks music under speech and places sound effects on moments.

## FAQ

### What is beat sync in video editing?

Beat sync places cuts, effects or transitions on the beats of a music track, so the edit moves with the music.

### Which apps have beat sync?

### Can I do it without a feature?

Yes. Find the tempo, work out the beat length and snap your cuts to markers.
