The best LinkedIn ad spy tool is LinkedIn's own Ad Library, which is free and needs no LinkedIn account. If you want saved boards or alerts, AdSpyder is the cheapest paid option we found with LinkedIn built in. Foreplay saves ads from the library through its extension. PowerAdSpy and Pathmatics cost more.

## LinkedIn Ad Library

LinkedIn calls it a publicly available database, and its search page opens without a LinkedIn login. You can search by company or advertiser, payer, keyword, country and date. It shows an ad preview, the ad format and the advertiser and payer names. For ads targeted to the EU it adds impressions, targeting and the dates the ad ran. LinkedIn says the library covers ads that ran after 1 June 2023, and keeps each ad for one year after its last impression. [Open it](https://www.linkedin.com/ad-library). For a walk-through, see [how to see competitor ads on LinkedIn](/guides/how-to-see-competitor-ads-on-linkedin).

## AdSpyder

Its page lets you search by company, keyword, domain, country, industry, date and ad format. It offers creative views, historical trends and alerts. Its Spy plan is $10/month for up to 1,000 ads searched, and All-in-One is $30/month. Its figures on ad counts are its own claims.

## Foreplay

A swipe file for saving ads, plus boards, briefs and competitor tracking. Its pricing page lists the LinkedIn Ad Library among the platforms its Chrome extension supports. Basic is $59/month for one user, with $20 per extra user. Workflow is $175/month for five users.

## PowerAdSpy

Its Basic plan starts with Facebook and Instagram. Its page says LinkedIn comes only with the Palladium plan at $399/month, which covers all 11 networks. It sells a 3-day paid trial for $7 on that plan.

## Pathmatics by Sensor Tower

Sold by demo only. Its FAQ lists LinkedIn, and its page says you can see creatives, messaging, calls to action, and spend and impression estimates. It shows no price.

## What a paid tool costs you

Say $1 is INR 85. AdSpyder Spy at $10 is INR 850 a month. PowerAdSpy Palladium at $399 is INR 33,915 a month, about 40 times more. If LinkedIn is the only reason you are paying, check that you will use the other ten networks first.

## How to choose

1. Start with the free library. Search by keyword as well as by company.
2. Add a paid tool when you track many brands and want alerts or boards.
3. Save the ads you like, with notes on the hook and offer. See the [best free ad spy tools](/best/best-free-ad-spy-tools) for the other free libraries.

We make Marxx. Its browser extension adds a Save button to the LinkedIn Ad Library, and also to the Meta and TikTok ad libraries, Pinterest and Google Images. Its competitor tracking covers Meta and Google, not LinkedIn. To write your own, use the [LinkedIn ad copy examples](/templates/linkedin-ad-copy-examples).
