Most ad agencies need three kinds of Slack app: one that sends ad alerts, one you can ask questions, and one that moves data between tools. One set that covers all three is Opteo or Birch for alerts, an AI agent such as Runneth or Polar Operator for questions, and Zapier or Make for the glue. On Slack's Free plan you can install only 10 apps, so choose with care.

## Quick comparison

| App | Its job in Slack | Ad platforms | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opteo | Google Ads alerts, to one channel or one per account | Google Ads | Basic $129/month |
| Birch | Rule alerts and actions | Meta, Google, Snapchat, TikTok | Essential $49/month |
| Runneth | AI teammate you tag in channels, scheduled updates | Meta and TikTok first | Starter from $999/month |
| Polar Operator | AI agent for questions, audits and reports | Meta, Google Ads, Amazon Ads, Klaviyo | Not listed publicly |
| Ryze | Questions, audits and scheduled reports | Google, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn | Paid Ads $89/month, Agency $279 |

## Alert apps

**Opteo** sends Google Ads alerts to Slack: Unexpected Changes, Zero Impressions, Zero Conversions, Budget, Performance Records and New Improvements. You choose one team channel or a channel per account. Pushing improvements from Slack is marked "Coming Soon". The Agency plan is $499 a month for 75 accounts.

**Birch**, formerly Revealbot, runs automation rules on Meta, Google, Snapchat and TikTok, checked every 15 minutes. Its Slack integration comes with Essential and Pro. Price depends on ad spend. Compare it in [Revealbot alternatives](/alternatives/revealbot-alternatives).

## AI agents

**Runneth**, built by the team behind Motion, joins the channels you add it to. Tag @Runneth and it replies in the thread. It can also post scheduled updates. Runneth is not available to Slack guests, and Motion's help suggests keeping it on internal channels rather than client channels. See [Runneth vs Marxx](/compare/runneth-vs-marxx).

**Polar Operator** is the Slack agent of Polar Analytics, a commerce data platform. Mentions and direct messages work on all Slack plans. It holds any change outside Polar for a person to confirm.

**Ryze** answers questions, runs audits and posts scheduled reports in Slack, with Approve and Dismiss buttons on its recommendations. Its Agency plan includes unlimited client workspaces and white label. Its Slack page asks you to "Get early access".

## Automation apps

**Zapier** and **Make** connect apps that do not talk to each other, such as a lead form and a Slack channel. Zapier's Free plan gives 100 tasks a month and Make's gives 1,000 credits. Agencies can use them for odd jobs: a form to a channel, a weekly sheet to a thread.

## Marxx

We make Marxx. It sends each client's leads, alerts and competitor digests to that client's own channel, and anyone can ask @Marxx about that client there. Each client's settings stay separate. See [Marxx in Slack](/features/slack).

## Mind the app limit

Slack Free allows up to 10 apps. Slack Pro has no app limit and costs INR 245.25 per user a month paid yearly (checked 6 Nov 2026).

Say your agency has 6 people. Pro costs 6 x INR 245.25 = INR 1,471.50 a month, or INR 17,658 a year. If you run Zapier, Opteo, an AI agent, Google Drive and a few internal tools, you will reach 10 apps quickly. See [Slack pricing](/prices/slack-pricing) for every plan.

## How to choose

1. **List the jobs.** Alerts, answers, data moves. One app per job is enough to start.
2. **Check guest rules.** If clients sit in your Slack, check which apps work in shared channels. See [Slack Connect](/glossary/slack-connect).
3. **Keep clients apart.** An app that mixes two clients' numbers in one channel is a risk.
4. **Name channels well.** Use the [channel naming conventions](/templates/slack-channel-naming-conventions-for-agencies) so each app posts to the right place.

## FAQ

### How many apps can I add on Slack Free?

Up to 10. Slack Pro allows unlimited apps (checked 6 Nov 2026).

### Which Slack app sends Google Ads alerts?

Opteo sends Google Ads alerts to Slack, to one channel or one per account. Birch and Optmyzr also list Slack among their integrations.

### Can AI agents work in a channel shared with a client?

It depends on the app. Runneth is not available to Slack guests, so check each app's help page for its rules on guests and shared channels before you invite a client.
