## Final Cut Pro

It runs on Mac and iPad only. In the US it is $299.99 once. Apple Creator Studio is Rs 399 a month or Rs 3,999 a year in India, after a one-month free trial (checked 3 Nov 2026). It adds Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor and MainStage. Generate Captions needs a Mac with Apple silicon and works in U.S. English only. Smart Conform reframes clips for vertical video.

## DaVinci Resolve

The free version works on Mac, Windows and Linux. It edits 8-bit video up to Ultra HD at 60 fps. Studio adds Smart Reframe, IntelliCut, auto subtitles and voice isolation. In India Studio is Rs 25,980 on sale until 20 Nov 2026 (list Rs 31,980, excluding GST; checked 3 Nov 2026).

## Premiere Pro and iMovie

Premiere Pro (now called Adobe Premiere) is membership only. Its Text-Based Editing comes with the subscription. iMovie is free on Mac, iPhone and iPad. It has storyboards, trailers and Magic Movie, but Apple's page lists no captions.

## Descript, Camtasia, Filmora

Descript needs macOS 14 or newer and edits video by editing the transcript. Camtasia needs macOS 14 or newer. Its free editor adds a watermark. Filmora's free desktop version adds a watermark, and its own pages disagree on exact paid prices.

CapCut is not officially available in India: it is not on the Indian App Store, and its pricing page shows no plans to visitors from India (checked 3 Nov 2026).

Say you use Final Cut Pro for five years. The one-time price is Rs 29,900. Creator Studio at Rs 3,999 a year costs Rs 19,995 over five years. The subscription stays cheaper for about seven years (29,900 / 3,999 = 7.5). It also bundles more apps. The one-time price suits you if you want one app and no renewal.
