## Sizes Meta lists

Reels and Stories ads use 9:16 at 1440 x 2560. Meta's Instagram Feed page lists 9:16 at 1080 x 1920. Facebook Feed uses 4:5 at 1440 x 1800. Meta asks you to keep text out of the top 14%, bottom 35% and each side 6% on Reels and Stories.

## Steps in two desktop editors

In Premiere Pro:

1. Select the sequence in the Project panel.
2. Choose Sequence > Auto Reframe Sequence.
3. Pick the target aspect ratio and motion tracking.
4. Open the new copy in the Auto Reframe Sequences folder.

In Final Cut Pro:

1. Select the project, then choose Edit > Duplicate Project As.
2. Set Video Format to Vertical or Square.
3. Tick Smart Conform and click OK.

## Browser and phone tools

Canva and Adobe Express put resizing on a paid plan. FlexClip's free plan adds a watermark. FlexClip's resizer lists 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 and 3:4. Kapwing lists Resize Video and Repurpose Studio. CapCut lists auto reframe on desktop, in specific regions. CapCut is not officially available in India: it is not on the Indian App Store, and its pricing page shows no plans to visitors from India (checked 3 Nov 2026).

## A worked example

Say you have a 1920 x 1080 clip and want 9:16. At full height, a 9:16 frame is 1080 tall and 1080 x 9 / 16 = 607.5 wide. That keeps about 608 of 1,920 pixels, or 32% of the width. Reframing tools track the subject so it stays inside that narrow window. Scaling it to 1080 x 1920 zooms in 1.78 times.

1. Decide if you must keep the whole frame or can crop.
2. Test subject tracking on a moving clip.
3. Check text and faces after the reframe.
4. Export one test and watch it on a phone.
