We looked up Wonderla, the amusement park chain, in the Marxx ad library on 16 October 2026. It had more than 500 ads running on Meta.

Scrolling through them, we kept seeing the same offer: Buy 3, Get 1 Free. Different cities, different photos, different headlines, but the same deal. When we grouped near-identical ads together, four creatives accounted for most of the account. Each had between 35 and 44 copies running, and all four had been live since 9 July, 98 days at the time of writing.

A list of 500 ads doesn't tell you much. Knowing that Wonderla has put most of its budget behind one bundle offer for over three months tells you what its plan for the season is.

That's the test we used for the 12 tools below. Most of them will show you what a competitor is running. Fewer will show you what they're putting money behind.

Three Wonderla Buy 3 Get 1 Free ads, each live 98 days with 36 to 44 near-identical copies

## Two numbers that matter more than ad count

Wonderla's top ads: Ride More Pay Less 44 copies, Funtastic Four 41 copies, Buy 3 Get 1 36 copies, Out of this world 35 copies

| Wonderla ad | Hook | Near-identical copies | Live since |
|---|---|---|---|
| "Ride More Pay Less" | Offer | 44 | 9 July |
| "Funtastic Four" | Offer | 41 | 9 July |
| "Buy 3 Get 1 Free" | Offer | 36 | 9 July |
| "I want to try something out of this world!" | Curiosity | 35 | 9 July |

**How long an ad has been live.** Nobody outside the company can see a competitor's ROAS. But brands don't keep paying for ads that lose money, so an ad that has run for three months is very likely working.

**How many copies are running.** When an ad works, brands duplicate it into new cities, audiences and placements. Forty copies of one creative is a much stronger signal than forty different creatives that each ran for a week.

When you compare spy tools, check whether they show these two things clearly. Plenty of them don't.

### Start with the free ones

Meta, Google and TikTok all publish their own ad libraries, and they cover everything currently running. Meta's library also shows when each ad started and lets you see copies of the same ad. The downside is that you have to do the sorting yourself, one brand at a time.

### Tools built for e-commerce product research

BigSpy, PowerAdSpy, Minea, PiPiADS and AdSpy are mostly used by dropshippers and e-commerce sellers looking for products that are selling. They're good at searching across huge numbers of ads by keyword, product or engagement. If you're a brand watching four or five competitors, much of what they do won't be relevant to you.

### Swipe files

Foreplay is for saving ads you like and turning them into creative briefs. It's popular with creative strategists, and it fits more naturally into the production process than into competitor tracking.

### Search tools

SpyFu and Semrush show which keywords competitors bid on and what their search ads say. They don't cover social creative, so most teams use one of them alongside a Meta tool.

### Marxx

Marxx tracks a set list of competitors across Meta, Google and keywords. Every ad shows how long it's been live and how many copies are running, and is tagged by hook, offer, emotion and format. That's how the Wonderla pattern above showed up: the four bundle ads sit at the top of the list sorted by copies.

## Which one should you pick?

- **Watching a few competitors on a small budget:** the free Meta and Google libraries, checked once a week.
- **Looking for products to sell:** Minea or PiPiADS for TikTok, BigSpy if you want several platforms cheaply.
- **Building a swipe file for your creative team:** Foreplay.
- **Planning search campaigns:** SpyFu or Semrush.
- **Running paid social for a brand or agency clients and reporting on competitors every month:** a tracker that shows days live and copies across Meta and Google, such as Marxx.

## What to do with a finding like Wonderla's

If you run a competing park, copying the 500 ads won't help. The useful conclusion is that a group bundle priced per head has been working for Wonderla since July, in every city. That's worth testing in your own markets.

The fourth ad deserves attention too. It's the only one in the top four without an offer. It's an illustrated family stuck at home, with the line "I want to try something out of this world!", and it has 35 copies. Wonderla is clearly testing a boredom angle next to the discount. You could test the same angle before it becomes common in the category.
