# Ad Intelligence in Slack: Ask "What Did Competitors Ship This Week?"

> A real week of competitor launches, written as a Slack digest: who shipped what, how hard they're backing it, and the one line that turns it into this week's brief.

Every Monday someone on the team asks a version of the same question: *what are our competitors up to?* The answer usually arrives days later, as a deck nobody reads.

It should arrive in Slack, on Monday morning, with the ads attached.

Here's a real one. Four experience brands in India, one week (15-22 September 2026), pulled from Marxx and written the way it would land in a channel.

<div style="background:#1a1d21;color:#d1d2d3;border-radius:12px;padding:16px 18px;font-family:-apple-system,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;line-height:1.5">
<div style="display:flex;align-items:center;gap:8px;margin-bottom:10px">
<span style="background:#3d6df0;color:#fff;border-radius:6px;padding:2px 7px;font-weight:700;font-size:13px">M</span>
<b style="color:#fff">Marxx</b><span style="background:#3f4348;color:#cfd2d5;font-size:10px;padding:1px 5px;border-radius:3px">APP</span><span style="color:#9a9c9f;font-size:12px">9:02 AM</span>
</div>
<b style="color:#fff">Competitor ships, last 7 days -- #paid-social</b>
<p style="margin:10px 0"><b>🎟 Wonderla launched a Buy 2 Get 1 on Sunday and went big.</b>

"BUY 2 GET 1 FREE", live 1 day, <b>running 41 near-identical copies</b> across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads. Offer-led hook, Buy One Get One, objective: sales.</p>
<p style="margin:10px 0"><b>🎓 Wonderla also opened a student angle.</b>

"Chase fun not marks" -- all rides INR 899 with a student ID. Command hook, problem tagged as post-exam stress, 3 copies.</p>
<p style="margin:10px 0"><b>🕹 Timezone went festive BOGO, with a date window.</b>

"Buy one get one free, 24-27 September. Load your powercard and get another one free." Offer-first banner, running on Facebook and Instagram in separate crops, objective: traffic. Separately, a Platinum Card skit ("the newest flex") has been live 6 days in 3 copies.</p>
<p style="margin:10px 0"><b>🍢 Barbeque Nation is localising one buffet offer city by city.</b>

Same INR 699 buffet, different language per city: "Kadak Buffet, Mansokt Khao" for Pune, "Kiraak Buffet, Maneeara Thinandi" for Guntur. 12 near-identical copies, plus a video cut.</p>
<p style="margin:10px 0"><b>❄ Snow Kingdom spent ad budget on hiring.</b>

A "We're hiring: Sales Executive, Hyderabad, 18k-20k" ad ran 4 days to WhatsApp. Its only other new ad is a snow montage with no CTA.</p>
<p style="margin:12px 0 4px"><b style="color:#fff">What it means for us</b>

Three of four rivals are in a festive discount wave, and Timezone's is dated 24-27 September. If we're not running a group offer this week, we're the expensive option. The gap: nobody is running an occasion (birthdays, corporate outings), which is where their longest-lasting ads usually sit.</p>
</div>

Everything in that message is real, and this is what the ads look like.

## The ads behind the digest

**Wonderla, Sunday: Buy 2 Get 1 Free, backed with 41 copies**

<div style="margin:8px 0">
<img src="https://marx-ad-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/ads/107323232672524/1631634528578579/9552f287.jpg" alt="Wonderla Meta ad: &quot;Buy 2 get 1 free&quot; over a water ride photo" style="width:100%;max-width:440px;height:auto;border-radius:10px;display:block;margin:0 auto">
</div>

The copy count is the story. One creative running as 41 near-identical copies on day one means this is the brand's big push for the week, not a test.

**Wonderla, same day: a different audience**

<div style="margin:8px 0">
<img src="https://marx-ad-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/ads/107323232672524/4471524019726726/158ce852.jpg" alt="Wonderla Meta ad: &quot;Chase fun not marks&quot;, all rides INR 899 with a student ID" style="width:100%;max-width:440px;height:auto;border-radius:10px;display:block;margin:0 auto">
</div>

"Chase fun not marks", INR 899 with a student ID. Same park, same week, but a student angle with its own landing page. A digest that only reported "Wonderla launched a discount" would have missed it.

**Timezone: a festive BOGO with a deadline**

<div style="margin:8px 0">
<img src="https://marx-ad-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/ads/207199646025469/1124123729961387/7bb00219.jpg" alt="Timezone Meta ad: &quot;Buy one get one free, 24-27 September, share the love, double the fun&quot;" style="width:100%;max-width:440px;height:auto;border-radius:10px;display:block;margin:0 auto">
</div>

Dated 24-27 September, "load your powercard and get another one free". It's running in two crops for Facebook and Instagram, which tells you they care enough to cut per placement.

**Barbeque Nation: one offer, one language per city**

<div style="margin:8px 0">
<img src="https://marx-ad-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/ads/93581147118/1386248723105296/229a081b.jpg" alt="Barbeque Nation Meta ad: &quot;Kadak Buffet, Mansokt Khao&quot; with a buffet spread and a price grid" style="width:100%;max-width:440px;height:auto;border-radius:10px;display:block;margin:0 auto">
</div>

<div style="margin:8px 0">
<img src="https://marx-ad-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/ads/93581147118/1466006792008780/a07ca82f.jpg" alt="Barbeque Nation Meta ad: &quot;Kiraak Buffet, Maneeara Thinandi&quot; with the same layout for a different city" style="width:100%;max-width:440px;height:auto;border-radius:10px;display:block;margin:0 auto">
</div>

Same layout, same INR 699 price grid, headline swapped into the local language for each city. That's a template worth stealing whether you run restaurants or venues.

**Snow Kingdom: a hiring ad in a paid feed**

<div style="margin:8px 0">
<img src="https://marx-ad-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/ads/1108980609207610/1143822601300905/67174b61.jpg" alt="Snow Kingdom Meta ad: &quot;We're hiring, Sales Executive, Hyderabad, 18k to 20k&quot;" style="width:100%;max-width:440px;height:auto;border-radius:10px;display:block;margin:0 auto">
</div>

Easy to laugh at, but it's a signal: a competitor building a sales team in a city is worth knowing before they show up in yours.

## Why Slack, and not a dashboard

Nobody opens a competitor dashboard on a Tuesday. Everybody opens Slack.

| Dashboard | Slack |
|---|---|
| You have to remember to look | It arrives |
| One person sees it | The whole channel does, including the client |
| Findings die in a tab | They become a thread, then a brief |
| Weekly at best | Alerts the day something launches |

The other advantage is context. A digest in your #paid-social channel lands next to the creative you're already arguing about, so the reply is usually "can we do the occasion angle this week?" rather than "interesting".

## What to pipe into the channel

| Alert | Cadence | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Competitor launches | Daily or as it happens | Dated offers, like Timezone's 24-27 September window, only matter before they end |
| Scale signals | Weekly | Copy counts are the clearest sign of what a rival is backing |
| Creative fatigue on your own ads | Daily | A creative dropping off is worth knowing this week, not at the month-end review |
| Weekly digest | Monday morning | The five-line version above |
| New keywords rivals bid on | Weekly | They're buying your brand name before they tell you |

And what to leave out: every new ad from every brand. A channel that cries wolf gets muted in a fortnight. Send launches that are backed by copies, and anything with a date on it.

## Ask it questions in the thread

A digest tells you what happened. The follow-up question is where the work is, and with [Marxx MCP](/mcp) in Claude you can just ask, in the same thread:

> **What has Wonderla kept running longest this year?**
>
> **Which of these brands runs corporate or birthday ads, and how long do those last?**
>
> **Show me every ad in this category with a dated offer.**

We asked that second one for this post. Across Wonderla's account, offer-led and price-led ads (61% of everything it runs) last about 12 days. Problem-led ads and skits, 2% of its ads each, last 37. The festive BOGO in the digest will almost certainly be gone in a fortnight. The occasion ads are the ones that stay.

That's the useful shape of this workflow: **Slack tells you what shipped, Claude tells you what it means, and the canvas turns it into an ad.**

## Setting it up

1. **Pick the five brands.** Two direct rivals, two a size bigger, one you admire.
2. **Pick the channel.** One per client or one per market. Not #general.
3. **Set the alerts.** Launches as they happen, digest on Monday, fatigue alerts on your own account.
4. **Agree the rule.** Every digest ends with one line: what we're doing about it. Otherwise it's a news feed.
5. **Keep the thread.** The brief for next week's creative usually starts as a reply.

Marxx connects to [Slack](/features/competitor-tracking) for alerts and digests, tracks Meta, Google and keyword activity, and hands the same data to Claude through the MCP. When a gap is worth acting on, it goes straight to the [production canvas](/features/production-canvas) and out to Meta, paused.

## Get this digest for your five competitors

On a 30-minute demo we'll set up your channel, add your five rivals, and run the first teardown live.

[Book a demo](/book-a-demo) and bring the brand names.

## FAQs

### What is a Slack bot for ad performance?

An app that posts ad data into Slack: your own campaign results, creative fatigue warnings, and what competitors launched. The point is that the information reaches people who'd never open a dashboard.

### Can Slack show competitor ads?

Not on its own. It needs a tool that indexes public ad libraries and posts into your channel. The digest above is Meta ad data posted into Slack.

### What should a weekly competitor digest include?

New launches, how many copies of each are running, dated offers, anything a rival has kept running for months, and one line on what you'll do about it.

### How often should these alerts fire?

Launches as they happen, a digest weekly, fatigue alerts on your own ads daily. More than that and the channel gets muted.

### Can I ask follow-up questions about the data?

Yes, if your tool exposes an MCP or API to an assistant. With [Marxx](/mcp) in Claude, you can ask "what is this brand running longest?" and get an answer from live ad data.

### Does this work for Google Ads too?

Yes. Marxx tracks Google advertisers and keywords alongside Meta, so the same digest can include "they started bidding on your brand name".
