In a normal year the monsoon reaches Kerala on **1 June** and covers the whole country by **8 July**. In 2026 it reached Kerala on 4 June and covered India on 9 July (India Meteorological Department, IMD; checked 2026-10-20). Run monsoon sale ads city by city, when the rain arrives, not on one fixed date.

The same document says IMD's forecast for the Kerala onset was 8 days early compared with the actual date. Seasonal rainfall was 87% of the long period average, and withdrawal began from west Rajasthan on 19 September, 2 days late.
