New Year's Day 2027 falls on **Friday 1 January**, so New Year's Eve is a Thursday. Ads split into two moments: the party (late December) and fresh starts (the first weeks of January).

## Timing plan

| When | Moment | What to run |
|---|---|---|
| 20 to 28 Dec | Party planning | Outfits, venues, events, party food |
| 29 to 31 Dec | Last minute | Same-day delivery, table bookings, tickets |
| 1 to 7 Jan | Fresh start | Fitness, learning, finance, organising |
| 8 to 20 Jan | Follow-through | "Still going?" reminders, January sales |

## Angles that work

- **Resolutions:** "Start the year with one small habit."
- **Fresh start money:** budgeting apps, savings, investing small amounts
- **Health:** gyms, home workouts, meal plans
- **Learning:** courses, books, language apps
- **Celebration:** party wear, events, staycations

## Ideas by category

| Category | Idea |
|---|---|
| Fitness | "Day 1 of 30" challenge ads with a free first week |
| Edtech | "One skill in 2027" course bundles |
| Finance apps | "Your 2027 money plan in 10 minutes" |
| Restaurants and venues | NYE packages, early-bird prices |
| Fashion | "Party in 3 looks" carousels |

## Mistakes to avoid

- Running party ads on 2 January
- Resolution ads that shame people; keep them encouraging
- Ignoring the second half of January, when some people lose momentum and need a reminder

## FAQ

### When should New Year ads start?

Party ads from about 20 December. Resolution ads from 26 December, at full strength on 1 January.

### Which industries do best in January?

Fitness, education, personal finance and home organising fit the fresh-start mood, so test them first. Check last January in your own account to see what worked.
