Ugadi 2027 is on **Wednesday 7 April**. It is the new year for Telugu and Kannada families (Kannadigas call it Yugadi), so write in Telugu or Kannada and build the plan around new clothes, the festival meal and gifts.

[Drik Panchang](https://www.drikpanchang.com/festivals/gudi-padwa/gudi-padwa-date-time.html?year=2027) says Gudi Padwa and Ugadi fall on the same day, Wednesday 7 April 2027. [Ishvaram](https://ishvaram.com/calendar/festival/ugadi/) lists Ugadi on the same date (both checked 2026-10-20). Ugadi falls on the first day of the bright half of the Hindu month of Chaitra, so the English date moves every year ([Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ugadi)).

Some Karnataka communities follow a solar calendar and keep the new year on Mesha Sankranti, when the Sun enters Aries (Wikipedia). Drik Panchang lists Mesha Sankranti on 14 April 2027, so those families may celebrate a week later. Ask your local customers which day they keep.
