# Runneth alternatives: how Marxx compares

Runneth and Marxx both work inside Slack, and both answer questions about your ads in a thread. They are built for different shapes of team: Runneth is one always-on teammate that learns your brand, and Marxx gives every client its own channel for leads, alerts, competitor ads and answers.

**Disclosure:** written by Marxx, one of the two products compared. Everything
claimed about Runneth is checkable at https://runneth.com. Prices were read there on

## Which one you actually need

**Choose Runneth if:** Brands and in-house teams on Meta and TikTok who want one AI teammate that learns their brand, ships briefs and static ads, and works across a wide stack of tools.

**Choose Marxx if:** Agencies and lead-generation teams who need each client's leads, alerts and competitor ads in that client's own channel, with Google Ads in the answer and no ad changes made from Slack.

## What Runneth is good at

- Each team gets its own always-on cloud computer and a shared, persistent memory of its brand, customers and preferences, so the agent keeps what it learns instead of starting fresh in every chat.
- On its Pro plan it ships deliverables, not only answers: briefs, hooks, static images and reports, plus routines such as daily and weekly reports, Slack alerts and a first-pass video QA in Slack.
- It connects to a wide stack around paid social, including Meta, TikTok, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Shopify, Notion, Asana and Google Drive, and it comes from the team behind Motion's creative analytics.
- Every plan has unlimited seats, ad launching is off until an owner or admin turns it on, and it holds a SOC 2 Type I attestation.

## What Marxx does that Runneth does not

### A channel per client, not one teammate per team

Marxx keeps every client's settings apart: each client has its own default Slack channel, its own list of what gets posted, and @Marxx answers only in a channel that belongs to one client, never in a channel two clients share. Runneth is one teammate with one shared brain per organisation, and Motion's own help suggests a separate organisation per client and keeping Runneth on internal channels. For an agency running twenty accounts, that is the choice that decides the setup.

### Leads you can act on from the channel

When a Meta lead form is submitted, Marxx posts the lead in that client's channel within moments, with the form, ad and campaign it came from. Mark contacted moves the lead to Contacted for everyone, Add note saves a note on the lead under your name, and if Conversions API stages are set up the same update goes to Meta. Contact details stay hidden in Slack unless you switch them on. Lead handling is not among the features Runneth describes on its site.

### Google Ads in the same answer

Ask @Marxx how last week went and it answers from that client's Meta and Google Ads results, audits, competitors, keywords and trends. Runneth is built around Meta and TikTok, and its own page says Google and Apple Search Ads are not its core use.

### Nothing changes from Slack

Marxx never changes your ads from Slack. With ad changes switched on for a client, it prepares a draft for someone to review in Marxx. Runneth is read-only by default and can launch ads once an owner or admin switches launching on, with a separate switch for editing or pausing live ads and no approval step per action. Both are reasonable; they suit different appetites for automation.

### Priced by workspace, not by ad spend

Runneth's tier is set by your ad spend averaged over twelve months, starting at $999 a month for brands spending up to $50,000 a month, and sustained overages can move you up a tier. Marxx is priced per workspace, so the price is not tied to how much a client spends on ads. @Marxx answers in Slack use credits from your organisation's balance, shown under each answer.

## Questions

### Is Marxx a Runneth alternative?

For teams that want ad answers, alerts and competitor updates in Slack, yes. Marxx posts each client's new Meta leads, triggered alerts and competitor ad digests to that client's channel, with buttons to act on them, and answers @Marxx questions in the thread from the client's Meta and Google Ads data. It is not an always-on agent with its own computer, and it does not ship static ads from Slack the way Runneth's Pro plan does.

### What does Runneth do that Marxx does not?

Runneth runs on its own always-on cloud computer with a shared memory of your brand, ships briefs, hooks, static ads and reports, runs routines such as a first-pass video QA in Slack, and connects to tools like Klaviyo, HubSpot and Notion. It can also launch ads to Meta once an admin turns launching on. Marxx does none of those from Slack.

### What does Marxx do in Slack that Runneth's site does not describe?

It posts each new Meta lead to the client's channel with Mark contacted and Add note buttons that update the lead in Marxx, and in Meta when Conversions API stages are set up. It sends triggered alerts you can snooze for 7 days or turn off from Slack, and competitor and keyword ad digests with a Save button to the client's board. Each client's settings and channel are kept separate.

### How much does Runneth cost?

Runneth's Starter plan starts at $999 per month for brands spending up to $50,000 a month on ads, with unlimited seats. Pro and Growth are priced on a call, and the tier follows your ad spend averaged over 12 months. Its MCP page describes a 14-day trial that starts with a setup call. Checked on 6 November 2026. Marxx is priced per workspace; see the pricing page.

### Is Runneth the same as Motion?

Runneth is built by the team behind Motion and signs in through Motion. Motion is the creative analytics app; Runneth is the AI teammate that works in Slack, the web app and an MCP server. Our separate page compares Marxx with Motion's creative reporting.

### Can I use Marxx and Runneth together?

Yes. They can sit in the same Slack workspace: Runneth in your internal creative channels, Marxx posting each client's leads, alerts and competitor digests to that client's channel. The overlap is answering questions about Meta results, so decide which one your team asks first.
