Pick Runneth if you run Meta or TikTok ads at scale and want an always-on AI teammate that learns your team's judgement and can launch ads once an admin allows it. Pick Marxx if you run Meta and Google ads for several clients and want each client's leads, alerts and competitor ads in its own Slack channel, with @Marxx answering questions there.

We make Marxx, so weigh that. Runneth is a strong product from the team behind Motion, and the two are built for different jobs.

## Side by side

## Three differences that matter

### 1. A teammate or a client channel

Runneth is built around your team. You train it on your judgement, and it works 24/7 on its own cloud computer. On Pro, it runs routines such as daily and weekly reports, iteration finders and Slack alerts.

Marxx in Slack is built around the client. Each client has its own default channel and its own list of what goes there. A new lead, a High CPA alert or a competitor's new ad lands in that client's channel, and the team acts on it with a button. Each @Marxx answer uses credits, shown under the answer.

### 2. How each handles clients

Motion's help suggests one Motion organisation per client, and keeping Runneth on internal channels, not client channels. Runneth is not available to Slack guests.

Marxx keeps each client's settings separate inside one account. @Marxx answers only in a channel that belongs to one client. It does not answer in direct messages, in channels two clients share, or in channels shared with other companies. Both tools keep the AI on your own team's side of Slack. See [client workspaces](/features/client-workspaces).

### 3. Who can change ads

Runneth is read-only until an owner or admin turns on ad launching under Settings, Organization, Runneth Permissions. Editing or pausing live ads has its own extra switch. Runneth's MCP page says there is no per-action approval step for each tool call.

Marxx never changes ads from Slack. The buttons act on leads and alerts: Mark contacted, Add note, Snooze 7 days, Turn off this alert, and Save on a competitor ad. Ad changes, when switched on, arrive as a draft you review in Marxx.

## Who should pick which

- **A brand spending heavily on Meta and TikTok that wants an AI analyst always working:** Runneth.
- **An agency with many clients on Meta and Google Ads, where speed on leads matters:** Marxx.
- **A team that already pays for Motion:** Runneth is included in paid Motion plans with a monthly usage allotment, so try it first.

## FAQ

### Does Runneth work with Google Ads?

Google Ads appears among its integrations, but Runneth's own site says Google and Apple Search Ads are not its core use. It is built for brands and agencies running Meta or TikTok ads.

### Can Marxx change my ads from Slack?

No. If ad changes are switched on for a client, @Marxx can prepare a draft change, and you review it in Marxx.

### Can my client use either tool in a shared channel?

Neither is set up for that. Runneth is not available to Slack guests, and @Marxx does not answer in channels shared with other companies.
