## The three differences that matter

### Where the client is

Your client already has WhatsApp. They may not have Slack. Asking a busy founder to install a new app for your updates rarely works. If the client runs Slack inside their company, [Slack Connect](/glossary/slack-connect) lets you share one channel without anyone switching.

### Where your tools post

Ad tools mostly post to Slack. Of the tools we read on 6 Nov 2026, Runneth, Opteo, Birch, Ryze and Polar Analytics all list Slack. Markifact is the one that also names WhatsApp. If your alerts and lead notifications go to Slack, your team already lives there.

### What happens when people change

On Slack, a new account manager joins the client's channels and scrolls back through the history the plan allows. On WhatsApp, someone added late usually misses earlier messages, and chats sit on personal phones.

## Worked example

Say your agency has 6 people and runs 10 clients. On Slack Pro paid yearly, that is 6 x INR 245.25 = INR 1,471.50 a month, or INR 17,658 a year. Paid monthly at INR 294.75, it is 6 x INR 294.75 = INR 1,768.50 a month. WhatsApp costs nothing per person, but your team still needs somewhere to read tool alerts.
