AI UGC is an ad that looks like a creator filmed it on a phone, but an AI avatar and voice present it instead of a real person. You write the script. A tool makes the video in minutes.

## How it is made

1. Write a short script. See the [UGC script template](/templates/ugc-script-template).
2. Pick an avatar and a voice.
3. Let the tool render the video.
4. Add captions, product shots and an ending.

## A worked example

Say you sell a INR 799 face serum and want to find the best opening line before you pay a creator. You write 6 hooks and make 6 AI videos. Say each draft costs you INR 300 in tool credits, so INR 1,800 in all.

You spend INR 1,000 on each for three days. Two videos get a [hook rate](/glossary/hook-rate) of 31% and 29%. The other four sit near 18%. You brief a real creator to film only those two scripts.

Paying six creators INR 3,000 each would have cost INR 18,000 before any ad spend. AI UGC cut the guessing, not the need for a real person on proof ads.

## The rules

- **Be honest.** An avatar must not play a real customer with a real result. Never script "this cleared my skin" for a face that does not exist.
- **Meta labels some AI ads.** Meta says ads with images fully created or materially edited using its own generative AI features get an "AI info" label. For ads about social issues, elections or politics, you must disclose when the image, video or audio is digitally created or altered (Meta Help Centre, checked 2026-10-20).
- **India.** India amended its IT Rules on 10 February 2026 (G.S.R. 120(E)) to cover AI-generated content. Intermediaries must label it and add traceable metadata. The government says the change also strengthens user accountability ([PIB](https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2295500&reg=1&lang=1)). Each platform's ad rules decide what you must declare.
- **Faces and voices.** Use only a likeness you have written permission to use.

Marxx has a production canvas for avatars, voice and UGC-style video that publishes ads to Meta. See [the production canvas](/features/production-canvas).

## FAQ

### Is AI UGC allowed on Meta?

Meta describes labels for AI-made ads and disclosure rules for political ads. Your ad still has to follow Meta's ad policies, like any other ad.

### Does AI UGC convert as well as real creators?

It depends on your product and audience. Test it against a human version with the same script and budget.

### Can I use a real person's face for AI UGC?

Only with that person's written permission. Without it, use a stock avatar from the tool.
