To appeal a rejected Facebook ad, open Business Support Home, select the ad, click Request review and select Submit. Meta aims to decide within 48 hours, so do not delete the ad first.

Steps below follow [Meta's rejected ad page](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1210227555661027), checked 2026-10-20.

## First decide: edit, appeal or replace

| Option | Use it when | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Edit the ad | The ad does break a rule | It goes for review again automatically once you edit it |
| Request review | You think it was rejected by mistake | Meta aims to decide in 48 hours |
| Create a new ad | The ad cannot be edited, or you want a clean start | The new ad goes through normal review |

Editing or deleting a rejected ad does not remove the violation from your account.

## Steps to request a review

1. Open the email Meta sent, or go to **Business Support Home**. Meta's Advertising Standards page names **Account Quality** as the place to request a review.
2. Select the account or catalogue that has the rejected ads.
3. Select the ad, ad sets or campaigns you think were rejected by mistake.
4. Click **Request review**, then select **Submit**.

You can follow the status of the request in Business Support Home.

## What happens next

- If Meta reverses the decision, the ad takes the status of its campaign. If the campaign is active, the ad starts delivering by itself.
- If Meta rejects it again, it stays rejected. You cannot send another request for that same ad.
- Humans do more of the work on a re-review than on the first check.
- A review request does not hurt your standing. A reversed rejection does not count as a violation.

## Read the reason before you click

Meta says it may reject ads that break the law where you advertise, discriminate against a group, use deceptive tactics, or break its other policies. Look at the image, video, text, targeting and landing page. Does the page match what the ad promises?

## A worked example

Say two of your ads are rejected on Monday. Ad A says "Stops hair fall in 7 days, guaranteed" for a INR 899 serum. Ad B is a plain video of a steel water bottle.

- **Ad A:** You cannot prove that promise, so an appeal will probably fail. You edit the copy to describe the product and how to use it, without a promised result. It goes for review again by itself. For help with the new wording, see [how to write ad hooks](/guides/how-to-write-ad-hooks).
- **Ad B:** You believe it was rejected by mistake, so you click Request review. Meta aims to answer by Wednesday. Meanwhile you move that ad's INR 2,000 daily budget to your next best ad.

## Mistakes to avoid

- **Deleting the ad first.** Meta may no longer be able to review it.
- **Resubmitting the same ad again and again.** Severe or repeated violations can restrict your ad account, your Page or your business account.
- **Appealing everything.** Appeal only when you think Meta got it wrong. Fix the rest.
- **Trusting a message that claims to be from Meta.** Business Support Home lets you confirm whether an email, text or call about your account is real.

If rejections keep happening, the problem may be bigger than one ad. Work through [how to audit a Meta ad account](/guides/how-to-audit-a-meta-ad-account) and keep the [Meta ads launch checklist](/templates/launch-checklist-for-meta-ads) beside you when you build new ads. If your whole account is disabled for a failed payment, start with [how to add a payment method to Meta ads in India](/guides/how-to-add-a-payment-method-to-meta-ads-in-india).
