To connect Google Ads to Claude, add an MCP connector for Google Ads in Claude's connector settings, sign in to approve access, and start asking questions. Claude then reads live numbers from your account instead of guessing.

## What you need

- A Claude plan with custom connectors. Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise all have them, but Free allows only one (checked 2026-10-20).
- A Google Ads account you can sign in to
- An MCP server that connects to Google Ads. This guide uses Marxx's hosted server. Other servers follow similar steps.

## Steps

1. **Connect Google Ads to your Marxx workspace** first, so the server can read the account.
2. In Claude, open **Customize -> Connectors**, click **+ Add**, then **Add custom connector** (checked 2026-10-20). On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it under **Organization settings -> Connectors**, and each member then clicks **Connect** under Customize -> Connectors.
3. Enter a name and paste the server address: `https://api.marxx.ai/mcp`. Click **Continue**, review the sign-in settings Claude detects, and click **Add**.
4. Follow the sign-in prompt and approve the connection.
5. Start a new chat, click **+** at the lower left, choose **Connectors** and switch the connector on. Then ask a question.

Marxx reads your Google Ads spend, campaigns and search terms.

## Prompts to try

- "Compare spend in the last 7 days with the 7 days before, by campaign."
- "Which search terms spent the most last week? List the top ten."
- "Which campaign spent the most this month, and how did its spend change week by week?"
- "Compare my Meta spend with my Google Ads spend, week by week, for the last month."

## A worked example

You ask: "Which search terms spent the most last week?" Claude calls the Google Ads tool, gets the search terms with their spend, and answers: your top three terms took INR 6,400, with the list. You pick the ones that do not fit your offer and add them as negatives in Google Ads yourself. Filtering a report by hand takes a while. This took one question.

## Safety checks

- Prefer read-only connections for analysis.
- For agencies, make sure the session is limited to one client at a time.
- Revoke access from the tool's side when you stop using it, not only in Claude.
- Connect only servers you trust. Anthropic says custom connectors can reach services it has not verified (checked 2026-10-20).

### Does this work in ChatGPT too?

### Is my Google Ads data used to train Claude?

On Free, Pro and Max, Anthropic may use your chats for training if you turn on the Model Improvement setting in Privacy settings. Chats flagged for safety review may also be used to train its safety models (checked 2026-10-20). Check that setting before you connect work data. Anthropic's business products have separate terms.
