Meta gives you a receipt for each ad charge, and an invoice if you pay by monthly invoicing. Add your GSTIN to the ad account first, then download the PDF from Billing & payments, Payment activity. Meta says changes to your details apply only to future receipts.

Steps follow Meta's pages on [receipts](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/117335431685396), [your GSTIN](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1848545052064215) and [invoices](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/497115331725169), checked 2026-10-20. This is not tax advice. Ask your CA.

## Steps for card, bank and UPI accounts

1. **Add your GSTIN.** You must be the ad account admin. In Ads Manager, open **Payment settings**, click **Edit** next to Business info and type your 15-character GST number. Click **Save**.
2. **Check the business details.** Your name, email and bill-to address come from your account. Meta says any change applies only to future receipts, so fix them before you spend.
3. **Go to Billing & payments** on a computer. The download works on desktop only.
4. **Pick the ad account** if you have more than one. Click **Payment activity**.
5. **Choose the dates.** Find the charge and click **Download** under Action.
6. **Need the whole month?** Use the **Download** menu: all transactions as one PDF, or the billing report as PDF or CSV.
7. **Searching a card statement?** Click **Reference number**, enter the number from your statement and search.

You need full control of the business portfolio, or admin permission if permissions sit in Ads Manager.

## If you pay by monthly invoicing

Go to **Billing & payments**, click **Invoices**, choose **Invoices** in the menu and pick a date range. Click the **Download** icon on one invoice, or **Download all** and choose how to group them. You need full control of the business portfolio, finance permissions and a monthly invoicing credit line.

## What the document carries

- **GST.** Meta says ads in India are sold by Meta India and GST and TDS are added whenever you are charged ([Meta](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1273346946097087)).
- **A digital signature.** Meta says it works with eMUDHRA to sign every receipt and invoice sold to advertisers in India. The signature shows on the PDF but not on a printout. Meta says that by law the electronic copy is enough, though some auditors prefer a printable signature.
- **One buyer.** Meta says receipts cannot be addressed to different customers.

Meta's help pages call the card and UPI documents receipts. Whether your receipt supports your GST credit is a question for your accountant. For the credit rules, read [how to claim GST input credit on Meta ads](/guides/how-to-claim-gst-input-credit-on-meta-ads).

## A worked example

Say you spent INR 30,000 from 1 October and add your GSTIN on 15 October. Receipts Meta issues after you save the GSTIN show it. Meta says changes apply to future receipts, so earlier receipts may not. Ask your CA whether they accept those, and ask Meta support if they do not.

Say you are an agency running ads for three clients through one ad account. All three receipts carry the same buyer details. If each client needs its own GSTIN on the receipt, plan one ad account per client.

## Mistakes to avoid

- Adding the GSTIN after the spend
- Using a login that is not an admin
- Downloading on a phone. Meta says the download works on desktop only
- Forgetting the TDS certificate. Meta refunds TDS as ad credit and gives no invoice for that credit. See [GST on Meta ads](/glossary/gst-on-facebook-ads).

For payment setup, read [how to add a payment method to Meta ads in India](/guides/how-to-add-a-payment-method-to-meta-ads-in-india). For market rules, see [Facebook ads in India](/markets/meta-ads-in-india).
