You can get a weekly ad report in Slack two ways: ask an AI bot in the client's channel each Monday, or use a tool that posts a report on a schedule. Asking takes one message, such as "@Marxx how did our Meta ads do last week?", and the answer lands in a thread a few moments later.

## Ask for it in the channel

1. Open the client's Slack channel. Marxx must already be added to it, see [how to ask AI about your ad account in Slack](/guides/how-to-ask-ai-about-your-ad-account-in-slack).
2. Type: "@Marxx how did our Meta ads do last week? Compare with the week before."
3. Read the reply in the thread.
4. Ask follow-ups in the same thread: "Which ad set pushed cost per lead up?"
5. Copy the parts you need into your client report.

Marxx answers from that client's Meta and Google Ads results in Marxx, as the person asking. We make Marxx.

## A worked example

Say Karan Mehta runs ads for Northwind Escapes, a made-up travel brand. On Monday he asks the question above. The thread reply reads:

```
Meta ads, 26 Oct to 1 Nov
Spend: INR 84,200, down 6% on the week before
Leads: 212 at INR 397 each (week before INR 441)
Top ad: Monsoon reel 02 at INR 311 a lead
Watch: Goa retargeting's cost per lead up 58% over 3 days
AI-generated by Marxx - 12 credits
```

Check the maths before you forward it. Cost per lead = spend / leads, so INR 84,200 / 212 = INR 397. The cost per lead fell by INR 44, from INR 441 to INR 397. That is the headline for the client. The Goa line is the action for this week.

## Scheduled reports in other tools

If you want a report to arrive with nobody asking, these tools offer it:

| Tool | How the weekly report arrives | Price (checked 6 Nov 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Runneth | Can post scheduled updates on its own. Routines with daily and weekly reports are on Pro | Starter from $999/month, Pro "Let's chat" |
| Ryze | Scheduled reports in Slack, plus questions and audits | Paid Ads $89/month |
| Polar Operator | Runs standing audits and reports | Not listed publicly |

Marxx answers when someone asks. To make it a habit, put "ask @Marxx for last week" on the Monday checklist of whoever owns the client. Compare Runneth's approach on [Runneth vs Marxx](/compare/runneth-vs-marxx), or read [Runneth's own site](https://runneth.com).

## Turn the answer into a report

A Slack answer is a starting point, not the full report. Use the [weekly ad report template](/templates/weekly-ad-report-template) for the layout, and [how to build a weekly ad report](/guides/how-to-build-a-weekly-ad-report) for what to add, such as store revenue and next week's decisions.

## Common mistakes

- **No comparison period.** "Last week" alone gives numbers with no direction.
- **Mixing clients.** Ask in each client's own channel, never one shared channel.
- **Forwarding without a check.** Recalculate one number by hand each week.

## FAQ

### Can Marxx post the weekly report without being asked?

No. Marxx answers when you mention @Marxx. Tools such as Runneth and Ryze offer scheduled reports.

### Can I ask about Google Ads in the same thread?

Yes. Reply in the thread with "Now Google Ads for the same week", and the bot answers from the client's Google Ads results.

### Will my client see the report?

Only if they are in that channel. Marxx does not answer in channels shared with other companies, so keep the question in your internal channel and send the client a clean version.
