You can hear about a new Facebook lead in five places: the Meta Business Suite app on your phone, Leads Center, an email, a Slack channel or a WhatsApp message. Pick the one your team already watches all day, because a notification nobody sees is the same as no notification.

## The five ways at a glance

| Way | What you need | How fast | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta Business Suite app | The app, signed in as a Page admin | Depends on Meta's settings | A founder who handles leads alone |
| Leads Center | Access to the Page in Meta | You check it, it does not ping you | A team that works leads in Meta |
| Email | An automation tool such as Zapier or IFTTT | Set by the tool's checking interval | One owner, low volume |
| Slack | A built-in Slack connection, or Zapier or Make | Set by the tool you connect | Sales teams and agencies |
| WhatsApp | An automation tool or CRM that can send WhatsApp messages | Set by the tool | Field sales teams that live on phones |

## 1. The Meta Business Suite app

The Meta Business Suite app on your phone shows activity for your Page. Open its notification settings and check what it offers for leads. Meta changes these screens often, so send yourself a test lead with the [Lead Ads Testing Tool](/guides/how-to-use-the-facebook-lead-ads-testing-tool) to see what really arrives.

This works when one person owns every lead. It breaks when a second person joins, because each person has to set up their own phone.

## 2. Leads Center

Meta lets you manage lead ads leads in Leads Center. It is a list, not an alert. Use it to work through leads and change their status, and pair it with one of the other ways so someone knows when to look.

## 3. Email

To get each lead as an email with its details, most teams put a tool in the middle. An automation tool watches your lead form and sends an email for each new lead.

How often the tool checks matters. IFTTT's Facebook Lead Ads "New lead" trigger checks every hour on Free, every 15 minutes on Starter and every 5 minutes on Pro and Pro+ (checked 6 Nov 2026). Zapier checks every 15 minutes on Free and every 2 minutes on Professional.

Say a lead fills your form at 10:01 and your tool checks every 15 minutes. The email can arrive as late as 10:16, and only then does someone start dialling.

## 4. Slack

Slack suits teams, because one message in one channel reaches everyone who handles leads. You can connect Facebook leads to Slack with an automation tool, or with a tool that has its own Slack connection. Our guide to [Facebook lead notifications in Slack](/guides/how-to-get-facebook-lead-notifications-in-slack) has the steps for both.

We make Marxx. It posts each new Meta lead in the client's own Slack channel within moments, and people can mark it contacted from there.

## 5. WhatsApp

Some automation tools and CRMs can send a WhatsApp message for each new lead. Check the tool's app list for a WhatsApp step before you buy. This puts the alert where many Indian sales teams already are, but a personal chat gets busy, and a lead alert can sink under family messages.

If you want people to message you rather than fill a form, see [Click-to-WhatsApp ads vs lead ads](/compare/click-to-whatsapp-vs-lead-ads).

## How to pick

1. **Count the people.** One person: the phone app or email. Two or more: a shared channel.
2. **Count the clients.** Agencies need one place per client, so one Slack channel per client works well.
3. **Check the delay.** Look up how often your tool checks for leads on the plan you will pay for.
4. **Test it.** Send a test lead and time how long the alert takes.

The reason all this matters is [speed to lead](/glossary/speed-to-lead): the time between a form fill and your first call.

## FAQ

### Does Facebook send lead notifications on its own?

Meta shows leads in Leads Center and in its apps. For a Slack or WhatsApp alert, or an email with the lead's details, you need an automation tool or a tool with its own connection.

### Which way is fastest?

A built-in connection that posts as the lead arrives is usually faster than a tool that checks every few minutes. Test your own setup with a test lead and a stopwatch.

### Can I use more than one way?

Yes. Many teams post leads in Slack and still use Leads Center to work through them.
