To see competitor ads on Google, search the brand's name or website in the Google Ads Transparency Center and set the region. To see who competes against you for your own keywords, use the Auction insights report in your Google Ads account.

## Method 1: Ads Transparency Center

1. Go to [adstransparency.google.com](https://adstransparency.google.com/).
2. Choose your region, such as **Ads in India**.
3. Type the advertiser's name or website and pick it from the list.
4. Use **Any time**, **All platforms** and **All formats** to narrow the list. Platforms are Google Maps, Google Play, Google Shopping, Google Search and YouTube.
5. Open an ad to see its details.

Google's FAQ says the Center covers ads from verified advertisers on Search, Play, Maps, Shopping and YouTube, for one year from the date the ad was last shown. New ads can take 48 to 72 hours to appear, and it shows up to five common variations of an ad. The ads are not clickable, so it will not take you to the landing page (Google FAQ, checked 2026-10-20). For more, read [how to use the Google Ads Transparency Center](/guides/how-to-use-google-ads-transparency-center).

## Method 2: Auction insights

If you run Search or Shopping campaigns, Auction insights shows other advertisers in the same auctions as you.

1. In Google Ads, open **Campaigns**, then Campaigns, Ad groups or Search keywords.
2. Tick the rows you want.
3. Click **Auction insights**.

Google says the report compares you with other advertisers in the same auctions. For Search campaigns it shows impression share, overlap rate, outranking share, position above rate, top of page rate and absolute top of page rate (Google Ads Help, checked 2026-10-20).

## Method 3: Search it yourself

Search your keyword in Google and look for results marked **Sponsored**. You see only the ads shown to you at that moment. Use it to spot new rivals, then look them up in the Transparency Center.

## A worked example

Say you sell home insurance. Auction insights for your best keyword shows:

| Advertiser | Overlap rate | Position above rate |
|---|---|---|
| Rival A | 38% | 61% |
| Rival B | 12% | 30% |

Overlap rate is how often the rival's ad got an impression when yours also did. Position above rate is how often it showed higher than yours. Rival A showed alongside you in 38% of your impressions, and above you in 61% of the times you both showed. That is your main rival for this keyword. Open Rival A in the Transparency Center and read its ad copy.

## What you cannot see

Neither method shows a competitor's keywords, bids, spend or conversions. The Center shows advertiser names and not the agencies behind them. For budget clues, see [how to find a competitor's ad spend](/guides/how-to-find-competitor-ad-spend).

Marxx tracks competitor ads on Google as well as Meta. See [competitor tracking](/features/competitor-tracking).

## FAQ

### Do I need a Google Ads account to see competitor ads?

No. The Ads Transparency Center is open to anyone. You may need to sign in to see age-restricted ads. Auction insights does need your own Google Ads account.

### Can I see which keywords a competitor bids on?

Not in Google's tools. You can guess from their ad copy and landing pages.

### How is this different from the Meta Ad Library?

Both are free ad archives, but they cover different platforms and show different details. See [Google Ads Transparency Center vs Meta Ad Library](/compare/google-ads-transparency-center-vs-meta-ad-library).
