You can send Facebook leads to Slack without Zapier in three ways: use a tool with a built-in Slack connection, use another automation tool such as Make, Pabbly Connect or n8n, or build your own webhook that posts to Slack. A built-in connection is the least work, and your own webhook is the most control.

## Three ways side by side

| Way | Setup effort | Cost (checked 6 Nov 2026) | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Built-in Slack connection (Marxx) | A few settings, no flow to build | Part of your Marxx plan, see [pricing](/pricing) | Agencies and teams that want buttons in Slack |
| Make | Build a scenario | Free plan with 1,000 credits a month; paid prices at make.com/en/pricing | People who already automate other tasks |
| Pabbly Connect | Build a workflow | Free with 100 tasks a month; Standard shown at INR 1,138/month for 10,000 tasks | Teams that want rupee pricing |
| n8n | Build a workflow, cloud or self-hosted | Starter EUR 20/month billed annually; Community Edition free to self-host | Teams with a developer |
| Your own webhook | Write and host code | Your server costs | Developers who want full control |

Pabbly's page mixes billing periods, so confirm the price at checkout.

## Way 1: a built-in Slack connection

A built-in connection has no flow for you to build or fix. We make Marxx, and this is how its connection works:

1. In Marxx, go to **Settings -> Integrations**, connect Slack and click **Manage**.
2. Pick the client and its **Default channel**.
3. Under **What goes to Slack**, switch on **New leads**, and pick another channel for it if you like.
4. In Slack, add **@Marxx** to that channel.

Each lead then arrives as a message with the form, ad and campaign, plus **Mark contacted** and **Add note** buttons. The full walkthrough is in [Facebook lead notifications in Slack](/guides/how-to-get-facebook-lead-notifications-in-slack), and the feature is described on [Marxx in Slack](/features/slack).

## Way 2: another automation tool

These tools follow the same pattern as Zapier. A trigger watches your lead form, and an action posts to Slack. Make lists a Facebook Lead Ads app and a Slack app. For Pabbly Connect and n8n, check their app lists for both before you sign up.

1. Add the Facebook Lead Ads trigger. In Make it is called "New Lead" or "Watch Leads".
2. Connect your Facebook account and pick the Page and form.
3. Add the Slack step that sends a channel message.
4. Map the fields, then send a test lead.

Pabbly Connect counts only the action steps as tasks, not the trigger. Say you get 900 leads a month and each lead posts one Slack message. That is 900 tasks, which fits inside Standard's 10,000.

## Way 3: your own webhook

1. Create a Meta app that receives lead webhooks. It needs `leads_retrieval` and the other permissions listed in our [Lead Ads Testing Tool guide](/guides/how-to-use-the-facebook-lead-ads-testing-tool), and it must be installed on the Page.
2. When a lead webhook arrives, fetch the lead's details from Meta.
3. Post a message to a Slack incoming webhook URL for your channel.

Two Slack rules shape this. An incoming webhook cannot delete a message once posted, so a wrong message stays. Slack also allows about one message per second per channel. Above that it returns an HTTP 429 error with a Retry-After time, so your code must wait and try again.

## When Zapier still makes sense

- You already pay for it and run other Zaps.
- You want each lead in Slack and also in a Google Sheet or CRM, in one flow.
- You also run Google Ads lead forms, which Google can send to Zapier.

## FAQ

### Is a built-in Slack connection faster than Zapier?

Marxx posts a lead within moments of it arriving. Zapier's Free plan checks for new data every 15 minutes and Professional every 2 minutes. Zapier's page did not say whether its Facebook trigger is instant.

### Can I post Facebook leads to Slack for free?

Zapier Free, Make Free and Pabbly Connect Free all have small free allowances, and n8n's Community Edition is free to self-host. Check each tool's limits against your monthly lead count.

### Do I need a developer for the webhook route?

Yes. You write code, host it and keep the Meta app's permissions in order.
