Meta Ads Manager does not post alerts to Slack by itself, so you need a tool in between. Pick an ad tool with a Slack integration, such as Marxx or Birch, or build your own route with Zapier.

## Four ways to do it

| Route | How it works | Slack | Price (checked 6 Nov 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marxx | Alert rules you set post to each client's own Slack channel | Built in, with Snooze and Turn off in the message | See [pricing](/pricing) |
| Birch | Automation rules for Meta, Google, Snapchat and TikTok, checked every 15 minutes | Slack integration on Essential and Pro | Essential $49/month, Pro $99/month, set by ad spend |
| Meta automated rules | Ads Manager checks a condition and notifies you or changes the ad | Not built in | Part of Ads Manager |
| Zapier | The Slack action "Send Channel Message" posts what an earlier step hands it | You build the check | Free plan 100 tasks/month, Professional from $19.99/month billed annually |

[Birch](https://bir.ch), formerly Revealbot, suits teams who want rules that also act, such as pausing an ad set; see [Revealbot alternatives](/alternatives/revealbot-alternatives). Meta's own rules suit one account where its own notices are enough. With Zapier, something else does the checking and Zapier moves the message.

## Set up alerts in Marxx

We make Marxx. Here is the setup, done once per client.

1. In Marxx, go to **Settings -> Integrations** and connect Slack. Open the Slack settings with **Manage**.
2. Pick a **Default channel** for the client you are working in, such as #northwind-escapes.
3. Under **What goes to Slack**, check that **Alerts** is on. To keep alerts apart from leads, send Alerts to a different channel, such as #northwind-alerts.
4. Open your alerts and make sure each one you want in Slack has Slack switched on. An alert set to email only stays in email.
5. In Slack, add **@Marxx** to every channel you picked. If Marxx cannot post somewhere, the Slack settings name the channel to add it to.
6. Switch to the next client and repeat steps 2 to 4. Each client's settings are its own.

See [client workspaces](/features/client-workspaces) and a [channel naming convention](/templates/slack-channel-naming-conventions-for-agencies) that keeps 20 clients readable.

## What an alert looks like

A digest of two alerts looks like this (made-up ads):

```
2 alerts triggered   High 1, Medium 1
Goa retargeting      High     Ad set
High CPA: Cost per result 1,420 > 900 (last 3 days)
Monsoon reel 02      Medium   Ad
CTR falling: CTR down 31% (last 7 days)
See all in Marxx
```

Read the first alert like this. Over the last 3 days, the Goa retargeting ad set paid INR 1,420 per result against a INR 900 limit. That [CPA](/glossary/cpa) is 58% over, so it fired as High and gets looked at first. Our guide to [lowering CPA on Meta ads](/guides/how-to-lower-cpa-on-meta-ads) covers what to check next.

## Snooze or turn off from Slack

Each alert in Slack has a menu with two choices.

- **Snooze 7 days.** The alert sends no emails or Slack messages for 7 days. Marxx still checks it, and you still see what it finds in Marxx. The message updates to show who did it: "High CPA snoozed until 13 Nov by Karan Mehta".
- **Turn off this alert.** The alert stops. The message reads "High CPA turned off by Karan Mehta".

In Marxx, a snoozed alert shows "Snoozed until ..." and has **Unsnooze** in its menu. The first time you press any Marxx button in Slack, you link your Slack account once, so later actions run as you.

## Common mistakes

- **Alerts on, but Slack off on the alert.** Both switches must be on.
- **@Marxx not in the channel.** Nothing posts until you add it.
- **Every client in one channel.** People start muting it. Give each client its own.
- **Too many alerts.** Start with three or four rules.

## FAQ

### Can Meta send ad alerts to Slack on its own?

No built-in Slack option exists in Ads Manager. Use a tool with a Slack integration or an automation app such as Zapier.

### Does snoozing an alert stop Marxx checking it?

No. A snoozed alert sends no email or Slack messages for 7 days, but Marxx keeps checking and shows what it finds in Marxx.

### Can someone change my ads from an alert in Slack?

No. The alert menu only snoozes or turns off the alert. Marxx never changes ads from Slack.

### Does every alert go to Slack once Slack is connected?

No. Alerts must be on under What goes to Slack, and each alert needs Slack switched on.
