Post a five-line summary in the client's shared Slack channel each week: spend, results, cost per result, one thing that worked and one decision. Link the full report underneath, and keep raw alerts, lead contact details and team debate in your internal channel.

## What to post and what to keep

| Post in the shared channel | Keep in your internal channel |
|---|---|
| Spend, results and cost per result for the week | Every alert as it fires |
| The ad that did the most, and why you think so | Arguments about what went wrong |
| One or two decisions for next week | Drafts of the report |
| A link to the full report | Lead names, phones and emails |
| Questions you need the client to answer | Numbers you have not checked yet |

The client wants to know three things: did the money work, what changed, and what you need from them.

## How often to post

- **Weekly**, on the same day and time, for the summary. Monday before noon works for most teams, because the week before is complete.
- **Monthly** for the full report with trends and next month's plan. Our [monthly client report template](/templates/monthly-client-report-template) covers it.
- **Same day** only for things the client must act on: a paused account, a broken form, a stock-out.

Do not post daily numbers. A single day swings for many reasons and invites panic.

## How to post it

1. **Draft the summary in your internal channel** first, so a teammate can check the numbers.
2. **Check the figures against the ad account.** A wrong number in a client channel is hard to take back.
3. **Post in the shared channel** as one message. Use bold for the three numbers.
4. **Add the full report link** in the same message. Do not attach five screenshots.
5. **Pin it** so the client can find last week's update.
6. **Answer questions in the thread** under the update, so each week's discussion stays together.

## Worked example

Say Northwind Escapes spent INR 1,20,000 on Meta last week and got 300 leads. Cost per lead is INR 1,20,000 / 300 = INR 400. The week before, it spent INR 1,10,000 for 250 leads, so INR 440 a lead. The cost per lead fell by INR 40, which is 9%.

The client sees: "Spend INR 1.2 lakh, 300 leads at INR 400 each, down from INR 440. The Goa beach reel brought the most leads. Next week we test two new hooks on it. Can you confirm the December offer by Wednesday?"

Our [weekly ad report template](/templates/weekly-ad-report-template) has the longer version for the linked report, and [how to build a weekly ad report](/guides/how-to-build-a-weekly-ad-report) shows how to fill it in 30 minutes.

We make Marxx. In an internal client channel, a teammate can ask "@Marxx how did our Meta ads do last week?" and check the answer before writing the client's version. See [asking AI about your ad account in Slack](/guides/how-to-ask-ai-about-your-ad-account-in-slack).

## FAQ

### Should I share the full report as a file in Slack?

Link it instead. A link always opens the latest version, and the client cannot forward an outdated copy by mistake.

### What if the client asks for daily numbers?

Agree on a short daily line with spend and results only, and keep the analysis for the weekly post.

### Should bad weeks be reported the same way?

Yes. Same format, same day. Say what went wrong in one sentence and what you are changing.
