The Google Ads Transparency Center is a free site where you can see ads that verified advertisers run on Google Search, YouTube, Shopping, Maps and Play. Search a brand, pick a region, and you see its text, image and video ads with the date each was last shown.

## Step by step

1. Go to [adstransparency.google.com](https://adstransparency.google.com/).
2. Type the brand or website in the search box. Pick the advertiser from the list.
3. Set the **region** (it reads "Ads in India" for India). Ads differ by country.
4. Open **All platforms** to pick Google Search, YouTube, Google Shopping, Google Maps or Google Play.
5. Open **All formats** to switch between text, image and video ads.
6. Open **Any time** to narrow to today, yesterday, the last 7 or 30 days, or a custom range.
7. Click any ad to see its details, including when it was last shown.

## What you can learn

- **Search ad copy:** the headlines and descriptions they test
- **YouTube ads:** the videos they put money behind
- **Image ads:** offers and visual style
- **Timing:** what changed before a sale or a launch

## A worked example

You sell home insurance. You search a rival's site in the Transparency Center, set India, and filter to text ads from the last 30 days. You see 14 search ads. Nine of them lead with "No paperwork" and five lead with price. That tells you their tested message, and what to differentiate on.

## Limits to know

- You see the ads, not the keywords they bid on.
- There is no spend, clicks or results data for most ads.
- Ads take 48 to 72 hours to appear, and advertisers that have not completed Google's verification do not appear, except in Europe and Türkiye.
- Ads stay listed for one year after they were last shown.
- Ads shown in Europe and Türkiye, and political ads, carry extra detail such as the ad's topic, a first-shown date, how often it was shown and audience selection (checked 2026-10-20).

## FAQ

### Is the Ads Transparency Center free?

Yes. You do not need a Google account, except to view age-restricted ads.

### Can I see which keywords a competitor bids on?

Not here. You can infer topics from their ad copy, or use a paid keyword research tool for estimates.
