TikTok gives its ad safe zone as downloadable templates, not pixels, and the zone shrinks as your caption grows (checked 3 Nov 2026). TikTok is blocked in India, so this page is for readers outside India, such as in the Gulf.

TikTok's own pages would not load for us, so these points come from search results that quote its official help pages. Check the live page before you design.

## What TikTok publishes

- **Templates, not numbers.** TikTok offers the safe zone as downloadable template files, with a standard version and an Arabic right-to-left version.
- **A moving zone.** The zone shrinks when the caption is longer and when add-on formats are used.
- **A warning.** Key text and logos outside the zone "might be covered or cropped".
- **No pixel margins.** We found none from TikTok. Margin figures you see elsewhere are third-party.

## Use the template

1. Open TikTok's ad help page and download the safe zone template. Choose the right-to-left version for Arabic ads.
2. Import it into your editor as an overlay on a 9:16 project.
3. Keep text, logos and the product inside the zone.
4. Shorten your caption. A longer caption shrinks the zone.
5. Turn the overlay off and export.
6. Play the file on a phone.

TikTok shows captions in up to 4 lines before "See more". The profile photo is 98 x 98 px, with the key element inside the central 66 x 66.

## Posting to Reels too

Meta publishes percentages: about 14% at the top, 35% at the bottom and 6% on each side. Those are Meta's numbers, not TikTok's. If one cut must serve both, keep text inside the area that passes both TikTok's template and Meta's margins. See [Reels safe zone](/guides/instagram-reels-safe-zone).

## A worked example

Say your TikTok caption is 130 characters. One TikTok page suggests under 100 characters. Another allows 150 for non-Spark ads. The pages disagree, so cut at least 31 characters to land under 100. A shorter caption leaves your text more room.
