In VN, tap Export and choose Manual, then set 1080p, a frame rate that matches your clips and HDR off unless every clip is HDR (checked 3 Nov 2026). Exporting does not need VN Pro.

## Export steps

These steps follow VN's help centre for the phone app.

1. Tap **Export** at the top right of the editor.
2. Choose a mode. **Auto** lets VN pick the resolution, frame rate and bitrate from your clips. **Manual** lets you set them.
3. In Manual, set **Resolution**: 480p, 720p, 1080p, 2.7K or 4K.
4. Set **FPS**: 24, 25, 30, 50 or 60.
5. Switch **HDR** on or off.
6. Set the **Average Bitrate**, from 1.0 Mbps to 300 Mbps. It resets when you change resolution, FPS or HDR.
7. Tap **Export**.

Keep the screen unlocked and VN in front while it exports. The help pages cover the phone app only, so they give no desktop steps.

## Which settings to pick

| Setting | Pick |
|---|---|
| Resolution | 1080p for most phone clips |
| FPS | The rate you filmed at |
| HDR | Off, unless all clips are HDR |
| Bitrate | Start with Auto, then raise it if the picture looks soft |

VN's own advice is to match resolution and FPS to the source clips. If HDR is off and some clips are HDR, VN tones those clips down to standard range. The Meta ad pages we read give no HDR requirement, so keep it off unless you need it. Meta asks for 9:16, H.264 and a fixed frame rate. VN's help pages do not name its codec, so check your upload (checked 3 Nov 2026).

## A worked example

Say you set 1080p, 30 FPS and an 8 Mbps average bitrate for a 25-second Reel.

- 8 Mbps x 25 s = 200 megabits.
- 200 / 8 = 25 MB.

Add roughly 0.4 MB for 128 kbps audio. The file is far below Meta's 4 GB limit.

## What it costs

VN's FAQ says export needs no VN Pro subscription or extra fee, and that 4K HDR export is free. VN Pro costs Rs 399 or Rs 1,799 on the Indian App Store, with no billing period shown (checked 3 Nov 2026). Cloud captions use credits. See [VN pricing](/prices/vn-video-editor-pricing).

For a general checklist, read [Reels export settings](/guides/best-export-settings-for-instagram-reels). VN and InShot are close rivals, so see [InShot vs VN](/compare/inshot-vs-vn).

## FAQ

### What are the best VN export settings for Reels?

Use 1080p, the frame rate you filmed at and HDR off, in a 9:16 project. Leave bitrate on Auto first.

### Does VN export in 4K?

Yes. Manual mode lists 4K, and VN says 4K HDR export is free. Use it only if your clips are 4K.

### Does VN add a watermark?

VN's site says it has no watermarks. Its auto-caption blog says the Tiny and Base models work with no watermark or subscription.
