# Connect Google Drive for brand assets

Sync folders from Google Drive into your Brand kit so Marxx can search your images, videos and documents by meaning.

Connect Google Drive and Marxx reads the images, videos and documents in the folders you choose. It then makes them searchable by meaning, not just by file name, so your workflows and generations can reach for real brand material.

## Connect Drive

1. Open **Brand kit**, then the **Assets** tab.
2. On the first visit, select **Connect Google Drive**. If Drive is already connected, select **Google Drive** at the top of the page instead.

3. In the Google popup, sign in and approve access to your Drive.
4. The popup closes and your Drive account appears in the **Google Drive** panel.

If a popup is blocked, a banner says "Popup was blocked." with a link, **Click here to connect**. Use it, or allow popups for app.marxx.ai and try again.

Drive belongs to your organization. Each connection shows who connected it, and you can connect more than one Google account with **Connect New Account**.

## Choose folders

1. In the **Google Drive** panel, pick the account on the left if you have more than one.
2. Tick the folders you want. Folders appear under **My Drive**, **Shared Drives** and **Shared with me**.

3. Select **Sync selected folders**.

Marxx starts the sync and shows progress at the top of the **Assets** tab. Assets appear as they upload.

To pick up new files later, open **Google Drive** and select **Resync folders**.

## The "Indexing" badge

A file with an **Indexing** badge is already in your library, and you can open and use it. It isn't searchable by meaning yet. Marxx is still reading it. The badge says: "Available now -- semantic search will find it once indexing finishes".

Indexing can take a while, especially for a large first sync. The badge disappears on its own. You don't need to do anything.

## Storage limit

The **Google Drive** panel shows **Organization storage**: how much you've used, how much is left, and, as you tick folders, how much your selection would add. Storage is shared across the organization.

You may see one of these:

- "Storage limit reached -- your plan caps brand assets storage." with an **Upgrade plan** link. See [Credits and limits](/help/credits-and-limits).
- "Storage limit reached -- contact an admin to raise it." Ask an admin of your organization.
- "This selection is over the limit by ..." Untick some folders and try again.
- "Partial estimate -- some folders could not be fully scanned". The estimate may be low.

When the cap is reached, the panel shows the first message above:

Some organizations have no cap. The panel then reads "Unlimited".

## Disconnect

In the panel, use the unlink button beside an account and confirm. **Disconnecting removes all assets synced from that Drive account.**

## If something looks wrong

- **Your folder isn't listed.** For a shared folder, check **Shared with me** or **Shared Drives**. Make sure the connected Google account can open it.
- **The Assets tab is missing.** Brand assets aren't switched on for your organization. Email apurv@marxx.ai or [book a call](https://calendly.com/mohit-marx/30min).
- **The sync seems stuck.** Large folders take time. Leave the page open or come back later. Files appear as they upload.
