Google Ads has a new **Sourced videos** setting in Performance Max, reported on **23 October 2026**. It finds your videos on social media, your landing page and your YouTube channel, and adds up to 10 of them to each asset group. It is on by default for new campaigns.

## What we know

- **Confirmed by Google:** its [Sourced videos help page](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/17016118) describes the feature (checked 24 Oct 2026).
- It works only in Performance Max, and only from sources you approve in your video portfolio.
- Google says it may already be on in some existing campaigns after a recent platform update.
- The campaign needs a daily budget above $5. The videos are posted to a Google-owned YouTube channel that carries your logo and business name.
- It is rolling out in stages, so you may not see it yet.
- **Reported:** [Search Engine Roundtable](https://www.seroundtable.com/google-ads-sourced-videos-42365.html) covered the new toggle on 23 October.

## What it means for your ad account

Old Reels, a product video on your site or a clip from a creator post can now run in your Google ads without you uploading it. That adds [creative diversity](/glossary/creative-diversity), but you lose a say over which clip runs. A Reel cut for Meta lands in front of a different audience on Google. Our [Meta ads vs Google ads](/compare/meta-ads-vs-google-ads) page covers how the two differ.

| Source | What Google can pull |
|---|---|
| Social media | Videos from approved profiles |
| Landing page | Videos on the campaign's page |
| YouTube | Videos on your linked channel |

## What to do this week

1. **Open each Performance Max campaign** and check Asset optimization for "Sourced videos".
2. **Click Manage sources** and remove any profile or page you do not want used.
3. **Untick Sourced videos and click Apply** if you want full control.
4. **Check the asset report** for videos you did not upload. Our [static vs video ads](/compare/static-ads-vs-video-ads) page helps you decide what to keep.
