Google Ads will accept a second accreditation for telemedicine advertisers in the US, UK and Canada from **November 2026**, under a notice Google posted on **4 November 2026**. Telemedicine brands accredited by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) can then apply for Google's telemedicine certification, alongside the existing LegitScript route.

## What we know

Google's [policy notice](https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/18794834) says it will update the country rules of its [Healthcare and medicines policy](https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/176031) in November 2026. It gives no exact day. [PPC Land reported](https://ppc.land/telemedicine-advertisers-gain-a-second-google-ads-certifier-in-3-countries/) that NABP lists a fee of $1,075 per website.

| Route | What you need first | Countries |
|---|---|---|
| LegitScript | LegitScript Healthcare Merchant Certification | Unchanged |
| NABP (new) | NABP Healthcare Merchant Accreditation | US, UK, Canada |

Google says the new route does not change the existing options. You still apply to Google after the third-party check.

## What it means for your ad account

This affects only telemedicine brands that advertise in the US, UK or Canada. An Indian or Gulf telehealth app selling to those markets gets a second way to qualify. Ads to people in India or the UAE follow those countries' own rules, which this notice does not change.

## What to do this week

1. **Check where you advertise.** If your telemedicine ads target the US, UK or Canada, this applies.
2. **Compare the two routes** on cost and time before you apply.
3. **Apply to Google only after accreditation**, and only once Google publishes the updated policy.
4. **If your ads are already disapproved**, follow our [guide to fixing a restricted ad account](/guides/how-to-fix-a-restricted-ad-account) and see what [ad account restricted](/glossary/ad-account-restricted) means.
5. **Track the policy page** for the publish date, so you apply the same week.

## FAQ

### Do I need to switch from LegitScript?

No. Google says existing certification options are not affected.

### Does this change rules for India or the UAE?

No. The notice covers Canada, the UK and the US only.

### Can I run telemedicine ads as soon as NABP accredits me?

No. You still need Google's own telemedicine certification, which you can apply for once the updated policy is published.
