Captions (by Mirage) has a free plan. Basic costs $9.99 a month and Max costs $24.99 a month (checked 3 Nov 2026).

## Plans and prices

The company renamed itself Mirage in Sept 2025, but the app is still called Captions. Prices below are monthly rates in USD from captions.ai (checked 3 Nov 2026). A yearly plan exists, but yearly prices are not listed.

| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 60 to 200 credits once, one template, basic editing tools |
| Lite | $4.99 a month | Android only. Manual editing and captions. |
| Basic | $9.99 a month | 200 credits a month, and tools such as Eye Contact and Denoise |
| Max | $24.99 a month | 500 credits a month, AI Edit styles, Chat to Edit, Clips, AI video, digital twins |
| Frontier | $69.99 a month | 1,400 credits, faster generation, top AI models |
| Frontier 2x and 4x | $139.99 and $279.99 a month | 2,800 and 5,600 credits |
| Enterprise | Custom | Bulk credit discounts, custom seats, priority support |

Basic and Lite appear on Captions' help page but not on its website pricing page. On paid plans, unused credits roll over up to 3 times the monthly amount. You cannot buy credits separately.

## India App Store prices

The iPhone app lists Basic at INR 599 a week, INR 969 or INR 999 a month, and INR 6,900 a year. Max is INR 2,499 or INR 2,999. The page does not explain the two prices. Captions' help centre lists Hindi and Hinglish captions, translation, dubbing and lip dubbing.

## What the free plan includes

Free gives 60 to 200 credits that do not refresh, one template called Eclipse, and basic tools: Captions, Trim, Zoom and Transitions. Projects that use AI features need a paid plan to export. Watermark rules are unclear. One help page says no plan has a watermark, while another source says free exports carry one. Test an export.

## A worked example

Say you pick Basic in India.

- Monthly at INR 999: 12 x INR 999 = INR 11,988.
- Yearly at INR 6,900.
- Yearly saves INR 11,988 - INR 6,900 = INR 5,088.
