A **task** is a unit of work your Zap does, such as posting one message. A **Zap** is one automation: a trigger (something happens) and one or more actions (what Zapier does next). The **check interval** is how often Zapier looks for new data, such as a new lead.

## What the free plan includes

Free gives 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps only: one trigger and one action. That is enough for "new Facebook lead, post to Slack" using the Facebook Lead Ads "New Lead" trigger and the Slack "Send Channel Message" action. Zapier checks every 15 minutes on Free, so a lead can wait up to about 15 minutes before it reaches Slack. Zapier's page does not say whether the Facebook trigger is instant.

Free stops being enough when you pass 100 leads a month, or when you want a second step, such as adding the lead to a sheet too.

## A worked example

Suppose you get 500 Meta leads a month. For each lead, your Zap posts to Slack and adds a row to a Google Sheet. Suppose each of those actions counts as one task.

1. Tasks per lead: 2.
2. Tasks a month: 500 x 2 = 1,000.
3. Entry Professional covers 750 tasks, so it is too small.
4. The 2,000-task tier covers it: $49 a month billed yearly, or $588 a year.

If you drop the sheet and only post to Slack, that is 500 tasks, and entry Professional at $19.99 a month billed yearly covers it ($239.88 a year).

## Which plan suits which team

- **Free:** testing, or under 100 leads a month with one simple step.
- **Professional:** a small business or one-brand team that wants faster checks and multi-step flows.
- **Team:** anyone who wants 1-minute checks.
