A naming convention puts the same facts in the same order in every name, separated by an underscore. Then anyone can read the account, and you can filter reports by angle, format or creator in seconds.

## The template

```
CAMPAIGN:  [Objective]_[Market]_[Audience stage]_[Start date]
           SALES_IN_PROSPECT_2026-10
AD SET:    [Audience]_[Placement]_[Bid]
           BROAD-F2245_ADV-PLACE_LOWCOST
AD:        [Concept ID]_[Angle]_[Format]_[Hook]_[Creator]_[Version]
           C014_PRICE_UGC_HOOK-B_PRIYA_V2
```

## The fields

| Field | Examples |
|---|---|
| Objective | SALES, LEADS, TRAFFIC, AWARENESS |
| Market | IN, AE, SA, US |
| Audience stage | PROSPECT, RETARGET, RETAIN |
| Angle | PRICE, HEALTH, SPEED, STATUS, PROOF |
| Format | UGC, STATIC, CAROUSEL, DEMO, ANIM |
| Hook | HOOK-A, HOOK-B, or a short word |
| Creator | First name or code |
| Version | V1, V2 |

## Rules that keep it working

1. **Same order, always.** A field in the wrong place breaks filters.
2. **Capitals and underscores only.** No spaces, no emojis.
3. **Keep a key.** One shared sheet lists every code and what it means.
4. **Name before you launch.** Then every report uses the same names from day one.

## A worked example

Six weeks of ads are named this way. You filter ad names containing "_PRICE_" and "_UGC_". Twelve ads match, with a combined cost per purchase of INR 540. The same filter for "_HEALTH_" shows INR 790. Price-led UGC is your stronger combination, found in one filter.

## FAQ

### Do I need this if I use a creative analytics tool?

Tools that tag creative automatically need it less. A clear name still helps every person who opens Ads Manager.

### Should the date be in the ad name?

Put it in the campaign name. Ad names get long fast.
