This is one prompt that gets an AI to write the same weekly ad summary every time: six numbers against last week, what moved them, what to watch and three actions. Paste it into any AI tool that can read your ad accounts, fill in the brackets once per client, and reuse it every Monday.

## The prompt

```
Write a weekly ad summary for [client name].
Period: [Mon date] to [Sun date]. Compare with the 7 days before.
Platforms: [Meta / Google Ads / both].
Main result: [leads / purchases / bookings]. Our target cost per result: [INR 400].
Use exactly this layout:
1. HEADLINE: two sentences. What changed and why.
2. NUMBERS: spend, results, cost per result, CTR, frequency.
   Show this week, last week and the change in %.
3. WHAT MOVED IT: the ad or ad set behind the biggest change, with its numbers.
4. WATCH: anything with cost per result more than 30% above target for 3+ days.
5. ACTIONS: three changes for next week, each with the number that supports it.
Rules:
- Only include ads with at least [10] results when ranking.
- Use rupees with Indian commas (INR 1,20,000).
- If a number is missing, write "not available". Do not estimate.
- Keep it under 150 words.
```

## What each blank does

| Blank | Why it matters | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Client name | Stops the AI mixing accounts | Northwind Escapes |
| Period | Fixes the window so weeks compare cleanly | 26 Oct to 1 Nov |
| Main result | Leads and purchases need different numbers | Leads |
| Target cost per result | Lets the AI flag what is off target | INR 400 |
| Minimum results | Keeps one lucky ad off the top | 10 |

## A filled-in example

Say Priya Shah fills it in for Northwind Escapes, a made-up client, with Meta only, leads, a INR 400 target. The AI returns:

```
HEADLINE: Leads rose and got cheaper. Monsoon reel 02 drove most of it.
NUMBERS        This week   Last week   Change
Spend          INR 84,200     INR 89,600     -6%
Leads          212         203         +4%
Cost per lead  INR 397        INR 441        -10%
WHAT MOVED IT: Monsoon reel 02, INR 311 a lead.
WATCH: Goa retargeting, cost per lead up 58% over 3 days.
ACTIONS: 1) Refresh Goa retargeting's ad. 2) Move INR 500/day to
Monsoon reel 02. 3) Test a second reel on the same hook.
```

Check the maths before sending: INR 84,200 / 212 = INR 397, and INR 89,600 / 203 = INR 441. The AI left out CTR and frequency, so Priya asks for them in a follow-up.

## Tips

- **Save one copy per client** with the blanks filled. Only the dates change each week.
- **Keep "Do not estimate".** It stops the AI from inventing a figure it could not read.
- **Recheck one number every week** in Ads Manager or Google Ads.
- **Send the client a cleaned version.** The [weekly ad report template](/templates/weekly-ad-report-template) shows a client-ready layout, and [how to build a weekly ad report](/guides/how-to-build-a-weekly-ad-report) covers what to add, such as store revenue.

The prompt needs an AI that reads your accounts. In Slack, mention the bot and paste the prompt, see [how to ask AI about your ad account in Slack](/guides/how-to-ask-ai-about-your-ad-account-in-slack). We make Marxx, which also works in Claude and ChatGPT through its [MCP server](/mcp).

## FAQ

### Why ask for a fixed layout?

Weeks become easy to compare, and you spot a missing number at once.

### Can I use this for Google Ads?

Yes. Set Platforms to Google Ads and Main result to conversions. Swap frequency for search impression share if you track it.

### What if the AI goes over 150 words?

Reply "Shorter, same layout" in the same thread. Then check it kept all five sections.
