B2B ad copy works when it names the role, the work problem and the next step in plain words. Below are 12 examples, grouped by pattern, and a Google search ad set that fits the limits.

We wrote these examples. They are not from real companies and have not been tested. Replace the brackets, and keep a proof line only if it is true.

## What is different in B2B

The person who clicks is often not the person who signs. Your copy has to be clear enough to forward. Say what happens after the click, such as "20-minute demo", so the click feels small.

Judge B2B ads on qualified leads, not form fills. See [lead ads vs landing pages](/compare/lead-ads-vs-landing-page) for how the two routes differ.

## Pain first

1. "Still chasing invoices on WhatsApp? Send reminders automatically. Free for 14 days."
2. "Leave and attendance in a sheet nobody trusts? Replace it this week."
3. "Month-end close taking 8 days? See where the time goes before you buy anything."

## Call out the role

4. "HR heads at 50 to 500 person companies: onboarding in one link, not twelve emails."
5. "Finance leads: see every vendor payment due this week on one screen."
6. "Agency owners: send clients a report that does not eat your Sunday."

## An offer you can deliver

7. "Free 15-minute audit of your [process]. You get a one-page list of fixes, even if you never buy."
8. "Download the [role] checklist. 12 items, one page, no sales call."
9. "Live demo on [date], 11am. Bring your messiest spreadsheet."

## Proof (real only)

10. "[Company type] cut [task] from [X] to [Y] with [Product]. Read how in 3 minutes." Use a case study you hold and have permission to share.
11. "Used by [N] teams in [industry]." Use a number you can show.

## Talk straight

12. "Not for solo founders. Built for teams of 20 or more who share one process."

## A Google search ad set

Google's responsive search ads take up to 15 headlines of 30 characters and up to 4 descriptions of 90 characters (checked 2026-10-20 on [Google's help page](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7684791)). Say you sell employee onboarding software:

| Field | Text | Characters |
|---|---|---|
| Headline 1 | Employee Onboarding Software | 28 |
| Headline 2 | Onboard New Hires in One Link | 29 |
| Headline 3 | Free 14-Day Trial | 17 |
| Headline 4 | Book a 20-Minute Demo | 21 |
| Headline 5 | Built for Growing Teams | 23 |
| Headline 6 | Set Up in a Day | 15 |
| Description 1 | Send offer letters, collect documents and track every new hire's checklist in one place. | 88 |
| Description 2 | See it with your own data in a 20-minute demo. No card needed for the trial. | 76 |

Write more headlines than this. Google mixes them.

## How to use these

- Lead with the buyer's problem, not your feature list.
- Make the ad and the page promise the same thing. If the ad offers a checklist, the page gives the checklist.
- Match the ask to the stage. A cold audience gets a checklist. A warm one gets a demo.
- Keep the form short. See the [lead ad form templates](/templates/lead-ad-form-templates).
- For opening lines, use the [B2B SaaS hooks](/templates/hooks-for-b2b-saas-ads).

Marxx has a browser extension that adds a Save button to the LinkedIn Ad Library, so you can keep rivals' ads in one place. See [how to see a competitor's LinkedIn ads](/guides/how-to-see-competitor-ads-on-linkedin).

## FAQ

### Which platform is best for B2B ads?

It depends on where your buyers already pay attention and what one lead is worth. Start with one platform and one offer. Compare the two big ones in [Meta ads vs Google ads](/compare/meta-ads-vs-google-ads).

### How long should B2B ad copy be?

As short as it can be while still naming the role, the problem and the next step. Longer copy needs a reason to be there.
