A call to action (CTA) tells the person what to do next, in as few words as possible. Pick the one that matches the page they land on and the effort you ask for.

Below are 40 CTAs we wrote, grouped by goal. They are examples to adapt, not tested winners.

## Two places a CTA lives

1. **The line in your copy.** For example, "Order today and get it by Friday."
2. **The button.** Meta lets you pick a button label, such as Shop Now or Learn More. Which labels you can choose depends on the campaign objective and ad format, so open the button dropdown in Ads Manager and pick from what it offers.

The line and the button should say the same thing. A line that says "Book your slot" above a button that says "Learn more" confuses people.

## CTA lines by goal

**Buy**

1. Order today
2. Shop the range
3. Add to cart. It ships tomorrow.
4. Get yours before [real date]
5. Buy 2 and save INR 300
6. Pick your size and order

**Get a lead**

7. Get a quote in 2 minutes
8. Get your free plan (only if it is free)
9. Tell us what you need
10. See if you qualify
11. Download the price list
12. Ask for a callback

13. Book your slot
14. Reserve your table
15. Book a demo class

23. Try it on your phone

**Message**

25. Chat with us on WhatsApp
26. Ask us anything
27. Send your size and we will reply
28. Message us for a price
29. Talk to a person
30. Send a photo, get a quote

**Learn and compare**

31. See how it works
32. Read the reviews
33. Compare the plans
34. Watch the 30-second demo
35. See what is inside
36. Take the 2-minute quiz

**Low-pressure options for cold audiences**

37. See the range
38. Browse the collection
39. Take a look
40. Learn more

## How to pick one

- **Match the effort to the trust.** A cold audience has never met you, so a light ask like "See the range" is a fairer first step than "Buy now". People who already saw the product are ready for "Order today".
- **Match the page.** If the ad says "Get a quote" and the page opens a catalogue, people leave.
- **Match the channel.** If your buyers prefer chat, use a message CTA. See [Click-to-WhatsApp vs lead ads](/compare/click-to-whatsapp-vs-lead-ads) and [lead ads vs landing pages](/compare/lead-ads-vs-landing-page).

## Words to be careful with

India's 2022 misleading advertisement guidelines say a "free trial" cannot describe a satisfaction-or-money-back offer or one that needs a non-refundable purchase (checked 2026-10-20 on the [CCPA guidelines page](https://ccpa.doca.gov.in/guidelines.php)). So write "Try it for 30 days. Money back if you do not like it", not "Free trial". The same guidelines treat "free" strictly, so check every "free" in your CTA.

## A worked example

Say you run a lead ad for home tuition and test two CTAs on the same ad, each with INR 5,000 of spend.

| CTA | Leads | Cost per lead |
|---|---|---|
| Get a quote in 2 minutes | 40 | INR 125 |
| Learn more | 25 | INR 200 |

(INR 5,000 divided by 40 is INR 125. INR 5,000 divided by 25 is INR 200.) The numbers are made up. In this case you keep the first and test a third. Check [CTR](/glossary/ctr) too, so you know whether the CTA drew clicks or only leads.

For the lines around the CTA, see the [ad copy examples](/templates/ad-copy-examples), the [ad headline examples](/templates/ad-headline-examples) and the [offer examples for D2C brands](/templates/offer-examples-for-d2c-brands).

## FAQ

### Does the CTA button change results?

It can change who clicks, so it is worth testing. Change only the button, keep everything else the same, and compare cost per result.

### Should the CTA always be in the first line?

No. Put the offer or problem first, and the action at the end, where the reader has decided. For short video, say it in the last few seconds and show it on screen.
