An end card is the last two to three seconds of an ad, with one action, one offer and your logo. Pick a card below and keep it under ten words.

## The template

```
END CARD
Line 1 (the action): [Shop now / Book a slot / Install the app]
Line 2 (the offer): [INR 100 off your first order]
Line 3 (where): [Link below / WhatsApp [number] / Tap the button]
Logo: [centred]
Background: [one brand colour, plain]
Length: [2 to 3 seconds]
## Rules for a good card
- **Ask for one action.** Two actions split the viewer.
- **Match the button.** Your ad has its own call-to-action button, so ask for the same thing.
- **Stay in the safe zone.** Keep the top 14%, bottom 35% and sides 6% free of text, as Meta asks (checked 3 Nov 2026).
- **Hold it long enough to read twice.** Two to three seconds suits a short line.
- **Make the offer true on the day.** Check prices, dates and delivery cut-offs before you export.
## A worked example
Say your ad is 15 seconds and the end card runs 2 seconds.
- Share of the ad: 2 / 15 = about 13%.
- Time for the story: 15 - 2 = 13 seconds.
Say your ad is 6 seconds. A 2-second card takes 2 / 6 = 33% of it, so use a 1-second card, or put the action into the last shot. The [6-second ad script templates](/templates/6-second-ad-script-templates) show how.
## Fit it to your ad
Use a card after a story, as in the [Reels ad structure templates](/templates/reels-ad-structure-templates) or the [ad script examples](/templates/ad-script-examples). Put short lines on earlier shots with the [text overlay examples](/templates/text-overlay-examples-for-video-ads). For the full edit, read [how to make Reels ads](/guides/how-to-make-reels-ads).
We make Marxx. [Marxx's AI video editor](/features/ai-video-editor) has templates and motion presets, such as entrances, exits and punch-ins, to bring a card in. Its safe-zone overlays for Reels, Stories, Shorts and TikTok show the margins to keep clear.
## FAQ
### How long should an end card show?
Two to three seconds is enough to read a short line twice. In a 6-second ad, use one second.
### Does every ad need an end card?
No. Use one when the action is not clear from the last shot, and test the ad with and without it.
