A hook for a B2B SaaS ad names the buyer's job or problem in the first line and promises one specific thing. These 30 hooks are grouped by pattern. We wrote them. They are not from real companies and have not been tested.

## Call out the role

1. "Finance leads: your month-end close does not need 8 days."
2. "HR heads at growing teams: onboarding in one link."
3. "Founders still sending invoices by hand, this is for you."
4. "Sales managers, can you see your pipeline without asking your team?"
5. "If you run a [N]-person support team, read this."

## Name the old way

6. "Still running [process] on a spreadsheet?"
7. "Your team has [N] tabs open to do one job."
8. "Chasing approvals on WhatsApp?"
9. "[Task] should not need a meeting."
10. "Every Monday, someone rebuilds the same report."

## Count the cost

11. "[N] hours a week on [task]. At INR [rate] an hour, that is INR [total] a month."
12. "Add up what one missed [renewal / payment / deadline] costs you."
13. "What does one wrong invoice cost you?"
14. "The cheap tool is not cheap if it takes five hours a week."

## Show the product

15. "Watch [job] happen in 30 seconds."
16. "This is the whole setup. No consultants."
17. "Your data in, a report out. Screen share."
18. "Here is the screen your CFO will ask for."
19. "One dashboard. Everything due this week."

## Talk straight

20. "You do not need another tool. You need fewer."
21. "We are not for everyone. Here is who we are for."
22. "Fix [process] before you buy [category] software."
23. "Our free plan is real. Here is what you get."

## Make an offer

24. "Free 15-minute audit of your [process]."
25. "Get the [role] checklist. One page, no call."
26. "Live demo on [date]. Bring your messiest sheet."
27. "Start free. Move your data in today."

## Borrow proof (real only)

28. "[Company type] cut [task] from [X] to [Y]."
29. "Used by [N] teams in [industry]."
30. "Switching from [tool]? We move your data for you."

Lines 28 to 30 need a case study, a count or a service you can show. Never invent them.

## A worked example

Say you test three hooks, each with INR 60,000 of spend. Your sales team marks a demo "qualified" when the visitor has the right role and a real budget.

| Hook | Demos booked | Qualified | Cost per demo | Cost per qualified demo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| "Live demo on Thursday, 11am." | 40 | 8 | INR 1,500 | INR 7,500 |
| "Finance leads: your month-end close does not need 8 days." | 30 | 12 | INR 2,000 | INR 5,000 |
| "Get the finance checklist. One page, no call." | 24 | 9 | INR 2,500 | INR 6,667 |

The offer hook books the most demos. The role hook brings fewer, but the cost per qualified demo is lowest: INR 60,000 / 12 = INR 5,000. Pick on the cost of the step your sales team values, like any [CPA](/glossary/cpa).

## How to use these

- Say what happens after the click, such as "a 20-minute call".
- Use the buyer's own words. Read your sales call notes and support tickets.
- Change only the first line when you test. Keep the rest of the ad the same.
- Write the body with the [B2B ad copy examples](/templates/b2b-ad-copy-examples), and keep the form short with the [lead ad form templates](/templates/lead-ad-form-templates).
- Not sure whether to use a form or a page? See [lead ads vs landing pages](/compare/lead-ads-vs-landing-page).
- For more patterns, see the [ad hook examples](/templates/ad-hook-examples).

Marxx reads your connected Meta ad account in full, with creative tagged by hook, angle, format and offer. That shows which of these hook types you have already run. See [creative intelligence](/features/creative-intelligence).

## FAQ

### What makes a B2B hook different from a D2C hook?

A B2B hook speaks to a job and a work problem, not a personal want. The buyer also has to defend the choice to others, so a clear, specific line is a safer bet than a clever one.

### How many hooks should I test at once?

Three to five on the same ad body. More than that and each gets too little budget to read.
