A hook for a fintech ad opens with a money problem the buyer already feels, then points to one clear next step. It never promises returns or approval. These 30 hooks are grouped by pattern. We wrote them. They are not from real companies and have not been tested. This page is about ad copy, not investment advice.

## Check the rules first

Checked 2026-10-20:

- **Mutual funds.** AMFI's master circular for distributors, dated 14 January 2026, says distributors must follow SEBI's mutual fund rules on advertisements and sales literature. It also says they must use the marketing material the fund house gives them. They must not design their own material for any scheme, or show a fund house's name or logo, without its written approval. See the [AMFI circular](https://www.amfiindia.com/uploads/AMFI_Master_Cicular_for_MF_Ds_3c7f5ee44f.pdf).
- **Lead forms.** Meta says an instant form must not ask for financial information, including card numbers, bank account numbers, credit score, net worth, income, bankruptcy status or debt status. A form that breaks this will not run. See [Meta's list](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/219356599612120).
- **Other products.** Loans, cards, insurance and crypto each have their own rules. We have not covered them, so check the regulator and the platform before you write.

## Everyday money confusion

1. "Where did your salary go this month?"
2. "Five accounts, four apps, one headache."
3. "Do you know what you pay in subscriptions?"
4. "Splitting rent every month on WhatsApp?"
5. "Why is saving so hard on a INR [amount] salary?"

## Fees and fine print

6. "INR [fee] a month is INR [fee x 12] a year. Do you use it?"
7. "Read the fees before you sign. Here they are."
8. "What this card costs, line by line."
9. "No joining fee. Here is what we do charge, and when."
10. "The charge nobody explains: [charge]."

## Speed and ease

11. "Finish KYC in [N] minutes. Here is every step."
12. "Pay the electricity bill in 15 seconds."
13. "Send money to a friend. Watch."
14. "Your bills, one screen."
15. "No branch visit. No paperwork. Watch it happen."

Use lines 11, 12 and 15 only if they are true for your product.

## Goals

16. "Saving for [goal]? Here is a simple plan."
17. "INR [amount] a month for [N] months is INR [total], before any interest."
18. "What does [goal] cost today? Do the sum."
19. "Start with INR [small amount]."
20. "Set the goal. Automate the rest."

## Learn first

21. "[Term] explained in 60 seconds."
22. "What a [product] is, and what it is not."
23. "Three questions to ask before you [take a loan / invest]."
24. "The mistake first-time [borrowers / investors] make."
25. "Read this before you pick a [plan]."

## Trust and care

26. "Who regulates us, and where your money is kept."
27. "Our support team is a person. Meet [name]."
28. "How we keep your account safe. Watch."
29. "Never share your OTP. Not even with us."
30. "Here is how we make money."

Line 26 is only for ads where it is true and you can name the regulator.

## A worked example

Say a card charges INR 99 a month. INR 99 x 12 = INR 1,188 a year. The hook: "INR 99 a month is INR 1,188 a year. Do you use it?" It states a sum, not a promise.

Line 17 works the same way. INR 2,000 a month for 24 months is 2,000 x 24 = INR 48,000. Say "before any interest" so no one reads it as a return.

## How to use these

- Open with the buyer's problem, not your product.
- Use only numbers you can prove.
- Keep any required disclaimer on screen long enough to read. The [ad review checklist](/templates/ad-review-checklist) covers it.
- Judge hooks on the cost of the step you care about, such as a completed KYC, using [CPA](/glossary/cpa).
- Keep lead forms short and legal. See the [lead ad form templates](/templates/lead-ad-form-templates).
- For more patterns, see the [ad hook examples](/templates/ad-hook-examples) and [how to write ad hooks](/guides/how-to-write-ad-hooks).

Marxx tracks competitor ads on Meta and Google, with keyword tracking and an AI search over 100M+ ads back to 2022, so you can see what other brands in your category run. See [competitor tracking](/features/competitor-tracking).

## FAQ

### Can I promise returns in a fintech ad?

Do not promise returns or approval. For mutual funds, follow SEBI's advertisement rules and use material your fund house has approved. Ask a compliance professional about other products.

### Can I ask for income on a Meta lead form?

No. Meta lists income, credit score and debt status among the questions a form must not ask (checked 2026-10-20). Ask later, on a call.
