A landing page for ads has one job: finish what the ad started. It repeats the ad's promise in the headline, shows one offer, proves it and gives one button. Use the section order below.

## The template

```
LANDING PAGE FOR: [ad name / offer]     TRAFFIC FROM: [Meta / Google]
1. HEADLINE      Same promise as the ad, in the same words
2. SUBHEAD       Who it is for and what they get, in one sentence
3. BUTTON        Above the fold: [Shop now / Book a demo / Get a quote]
4. HERO          The same product or scene as the ad
5. BENEFITS      Three lines, in the buyer's words
6. HOW IT WORKS  Three steps, a few words each
7. PROOF         Real reviews, real numbers, real photos
8. OBJECTIONS    3 to 5 short questions: price, delivery, returns, safety
9. OFFER AGAIN   Price, deadline (only if real), button
10. FOOTER       Contact, policies, privacy link, address
```

## Message match check

Read the ad, then read the top of the page. Each promise in the ad must show up on the page.

| The ad says | The page must show |
|---|---|
| "INR 200 off your first order" | The discount applied, or the code next to the button |
| A product in the video | The same product in the hero |
| A price in the headline | The same price, above the fold |
| "Ends Sunday" | The same deadline, and the same end time |

If the ad and the page disagree, the buyer is likely to notice, and the click may be wasted. See [above the fold](/glossary/above-the-fold) for what the first screen should hold.

## A worked example

Say 1,000 people click your ad at INR 12 each. You spend 1,000 x INR 12 = INR 12,000. Twenty of them order, which is 2%. Each order costs INR 12,000 / 20 = INR 600.

Now you match the page to the ad. Twenty-eight order, which is 2.8%. Each order costs INR 12,000 / 28 = about INR 429. The ad and the spend are the same. The page made each order about INR 171 cheaper. Your [CPC](/glossary/cpc) did not change, so the gain came from the page.

## Speed

Google's web.dev says a good Largest Contentful Paint is 2.5 seconds or less, measured at the 75th percentile of page loads (checked 2026-10-20 on [web.dev](https://web.dev/articles/lcp)). Largest Contentful Paint is the time the biggest thing on the screen, often your hero image, takes to appear. Open your page on a phone on mobile data and watch.

## Tips

- Build one page per offer. Send ad traffic to the page about that offer, not to the homepage.
- Cut the menu and the extras, so the button is the main way forward.
- Put the button on the first screen, and again after the proof.
- Use real proof only. Never invent reviews or numbers.
- If you sell a product, start from the [ecommerce ad copy templates](/templates/ad-copy-templates-for-ecommerce-sales). Track the [add-to-cart rate](/glossary/add-to-cart-rate) to see where people drop.
- If the goal is a lead, keep the form short. See the [lead ad form templates](/templates/lead-ad-form-templates), and compare routes in [lead ads vs landing pages](/compare/lead-ads-vs-landing-page).

## FAQ

### How long should a landing page for ads be?

As long as it takes to answer the buyer's questions, and no longer. An impulse buy needs a short page. A INR 40,000 course needs more proof.

### Should I send ad traffic to my homepage?

Usually not. Send it to a page about the offer in the ad, so the buyer lands where the ad pointed.
