Prompts for UGC style AI videos work best when they name five things in order: who is on screen, where they are, how the camera moves, what they do and what they say. Copy a template below, fill the brackets and ask for one shot at a time.

## The five parts

```
SUBJECT   Who is on screen: age range, look, clothes.
SETTING   Where: a bedroom, a kitchen, a balcony, a car.
CAMERA    How it looks: handheld phone, selfie angle, slight shake.
ACTION    What happens: one move per shot.
VOICE     The spoken line, word for word, in quotes.
AVOID     What you do not want: text on screen, extra fingers, logos.
```

Real UGC looks plain. Ask for window light, a phone camera and a small amount of shake. A polished studio look is the quickest way to make the ad feel like an ad.

## Five templates

**1. Selfie talk**

```
A [age range] [man/woman], casual clothes, sitting on a sofa in a
bright living room. Handheld phone, selfie angle, slight shake,
window light. They look at the camera and say: "[one-line hook]".
Natural pauses. No text on screen. Avoid logos and heavy makeup.
```

**2. Product demo**

```
Close-up of hands holding [product] in front of a plain wall.
Handheld phone, steady. The hands turn the product to show [label,
texture or size], then press [button / open lid]. Natural kitchen
light. No voice. No text. Avoid extra fingers.
```

**3. Unboxing**

```
A table by a window. Hands open a [brand-neutral] box and lift out
[product]. Handheld phone from above, slight shake. A voice says:
"[first reaction line]". Avoid text and logos.
```

**4. Get-ready routine**

```
A [woman/man] at a bathroom mirror, morning light, handheld phone
propped on the sink. They apply [product] and say: "[line about
how it feels]". One take, natural speed. Avoid filters.
```

**5. Street question**

```
A street outside a [café/shop], daytime. A person holds a phone
toward a passer-by and asks: "[question]". The passer-by answers:
"[answer]". Handheld, noisy background, natural light.
```

## A filled-in example

Say you sell a INR 549 gel moisturiser. Template 4 might become:

"A woman in her late twenties at a bathroom mirror, morning light, handheld phone propped on the sink. She smooths a gel moisturiser over her cheeks and says: 'This one feels light, not greasy.' One take, natural speed. Avoid filters and text."

Run it three times with a different spoken line each time. Then watch the clips, keep the best and cut the rest.

## Use them honestly

1. **Do not script an AI person as a customer.** India's 2022 guidelines say an endorsement must reflect the genuine, reasonably current opinion of the person making it, based on adequate information or experience (clause 13). They also say a connection to the brand must be disclosed (clause 14; [CCPA guidelines page](https://ccpa.doca.gov.in/guidelines.php), checked 2026-10-20). An AI character has no experience of your product, so we would not write "I used it for 30 days". This is our reading, not legal advice.
2. **Say only what you can prove.** Write lines about the product, not about a result nobody saw.
3. **Label AI ads where Meta asks you to.** See [how to label AI-generated ads on Meta](/guides/how-to-label-ai-generated-ads-on-meta).
4. **Do not copy a real person's face or voice** without their permission.

## Tips

- One shot per prompt. Stitch the shots in an editor.
- Write the spoken line before the scene. If the line is weak, a better scene will not save it.
- Reuse the hook from a human-made ad that worked. See [how to make AI UGC videos](/guides/how-to-make-ai-ugc-videos) for the full flow.
- Compare AI and human creators on your own numbers. See [AI UGC vs human UGC](/compare/ai-ugc-vs-human-ugc).
- For structure, use the [UGC script template](/templates/ugc-script-template).

Marxx has a production canvas for image, video, voice, dubbing, avatars and UGC. See the [production canvas](/features/production-canvas). The prompts above work in any video tool.

## FAQ

### What makes a UGC style prompt look real?

A handheld phone camera, window light, plain clothes and one simple action. Studio language, such as "cinematic" or "8K", can push the result away from UGC.

### Should I write the spoken line in the prompt?

Yes, word for word, in quotes. If you leave it out, the tool invents a line you may not want.

### How long should each clip be?

Ask for one short shot per prompt and check what your tool allows. Stitch several shots to build the full ad.
