Good video feedback names a time, says what to change and says why. Send one numbered list per round, using the template below, and mark each note as must-fix or nice-to-have.

## The template

```
REVISION ROUND [1 of 2]: [Ad name], version [v1]
Reviewed by: [name]    Date: [date]    Changes due back: [date, time]
MUST FIX (the ad cannot go live without these)
1. [0:03] Change: [what]. Why: [reason]
2. [0:18] Change: [what]. Why: [reason]
NICE TO HAVE (only if time allows)
3. [0:09] Change: [what]. Why: [reason]
KEEP AS IT IS
- [the hook, the music, the colour]
QUESTIONS FOR THE EDITOR
- [anything you are unsure about]
Approval: reply "approved" when all MUST FIX notes are done.
```

## Vague note, useful note

| Vague note | Useful note |
|---|---|
| "Make it punchier" | "0:00-0:03: cut the first shot, start on the product" |
| "The text is hard to read" | "0:12: text is over the white shirt. Add a dark box behind it" |
| "Fix the audio" | "0:20: music is louder than the voice. Lower it under the line" |
| "Does not feel like us" | "Use the brand green (#1F7A4D) on the price card" |
| "Too long" | "Cut to 25 seconds. Keep the offer and the call to action" |

## Rules that save a round

- **Write times as minutes:seconds.** "0:07" is exact. "Near the middle" is not.
- **One list, one message.** Several messages make the editor merge them.
- **Say who approves.** One person signs off. Two people with different notes cost a round.
- **Mark what is final.** Tell the editor what you like, so it does not change by accident.
- **Check claims yourself.** A price, an offer or a legal line is yours to confirm, not the editor's.

## A worked example

Say you agreed 2 rounds, and each pass takes the editor 1 working day.

- Notes sent as 3 separate messages: 3 passes, so 3 working days. You are one round over.
- Notes sent as 1 numbered list: 1 pass, so 1 working day. One round is still free.

Rounds stay at 2 only if each one holds all your notes.

## Using an AI editor

If you make the changes yourself, paste each numbered note as one request to the assistant in Marxx's [AI video editor](/features/ai-video-editor). Each request lands as one undo step, so a bad change is easy to reverse. We make Marxx.

Before you send a round, run the [video editing checklist](/templates/video-editing-checklist) on the draft. It catches the small problems so your notes can focus on the big ones. For a clean start, send a [video editor brief](/templates/video-editor-brief-template) first. Agencies can write the review steps into a [video editing SOP](/templates/video-editing-sop-template).

## FAQ

### How many revision rounds should I ask for?

Two is common. Agree the number in the brief, and say what an extra round costs.

### Should I use a spreadsheet or a message?

Use a message with a numbered list. It is the easiest to reply to and to find later.
